we need more PS3-PSP connectivity
we need more-cheaper ps3's
i need a ps3...
PS3's ae cheap you poor bum.
PS3s are so cheap, they're "too cheap" at only $600, god0fgod aka Ken Kutaragi. Just pocket change right?
why the hell are people complaining about the PSP price when the PS3 is the obvious one that needs a price adjustment
ps3 is incredibly cheap i bought it with my own money and im 14
for the amount of raw processing power you get the ps3 is cheap, PS3 + Linux + *_*
It's more of a computer than a game console.
I can't wait to get mine though.
yess... this is one of the reasons i bought the ps3. but when i found out it didnt have it already i was kinda sad...now im happy. hopefully they make it a location free player like they said it was gonna be too.
Its to bandwidh hungry to be used properly at most Wifi spots.
Even with the quality at 1 (or is it 5) its near impossible to use just in my other room.
Also are people going to turn on there ps3 and switch it to remote play before they leave or something?
Guess we will see.
yeah that what i was thinkin.... say i wanted to go on a trip to like florida or someithing. i owuldnt want to leave it on or have to go into remote play everytime i want to access my ps3 from my psp.
i wonder if this means if the $500 model will have it now, so i could connect with my psp through my wireless router to the ps3 instead of directly connecting.
baboso
I was thinking the same thing..
sounds awesome
yea there's a problem that i've been seeing with this; unless they add some sort of wake-on-lan feature you will have to leave your ps3 on before you go somewhere to use the remote play feature, or just call up a friend or family member to switch it on...
i know i'm not leaving my ps3 turned on for extended periods of time. hopefully they'll have something clever worked out for this.
yea a stupid
Good Point,
Remote wake would be a great feature to add if they expect us to use this feature.
yeah it heats up way too much ...any body recommend some sorta cooler for me....any way to install liquid cooling like in pc's?
I can't imagine leaving my PS3 on for an extended amount of time or I will need a second job to pay the electricity bill!!! I hope Sony thought about that and got a half sleeping mode where the PS3 fully wake up in the case the PSP is connecting it... let's hope so !!!
I agree. They should let the PS3 sleep while keeping the wireless connection alive at bare minimum power.
thought we just downgraded from firmware 3.xx to 1.6.
bwahahahahaha
yes 1.6 is for ps3. and we downgraded to 1.5 not 1.6. theres not such thing stupid.
For me, the PS3 is too power hungry and gets too hot for leaving it on while not being at home. I'd rather not risk getting my home burned just for the fun of remote play. And the power bill is another issue here.
I hope Sony can reduce the absolutely insane power consumption in future PS3 models.
id say the only reason your ps3 is hot is because of where you have it. DON'T get the Niko cooler or whatever it is -it sucks balls.Move your PS3 out into a ore open space dont put it on a carpet make sure the Vents are not blocked etc.
the ps3 gets hot regardless u stupid *****. It over heats faster than the 360 and consumes more power too. Get ur facts straight.
I got both a ps3 and a 360 and let me tell you when the 360 heats up it heats up big time. and compared to the ps3 which is more powerfull hense is more electricity consuming. If your lucky the 360 wont die on you as my old one did just because a forgot it turned on for 5 hours!!!! for crying out loud I left the ps3 for 16 hours and it was only hot when i touched it.... and dont tell me its just my 360 my neighbour had the same ***** with his 360
So please stop pulling so much crap out of your asses...
finally, the 1.6 update will be soo awesome and leave the 360 fanboys crying for their zunes to be this cool!
i really doubt the next firmware update is gunna be all that....*****s gettin way 2 hyped up
Tom ASS KISS
This is going to be a near useless feature. Even if they add a wake on LAN access feature, how often will you be at a wireless hotspot with a PSP and think, hey I need to view a photo or listen to a song on my PS3 that I left on before I left? This is even more useless than the sony location free player.
You're better off buying a bigger memory stick for the PSP than dealing with this crap.
Right, so when are they coming out with 160GB memory Sticks? Not to mention the fact that external USB drives can be attached. Add to that the fact that I won't need to waste more time converting files to PSP mp4 format, my videos can just be on the PS3 all time. And I guess you've never been to a hotel or airport with free WiFi? Many high schools, universities and downtowns also have free wifi. There you go, several common locations where I can and will use RemotePlay on a daily basis. Or how about my friend's house, or at work when I want to someone a video or song. Anyway, I think I'll use this all the time. (Assuming they integrate some kind of wake PS3 option because I'm not leaving my PS3 on 24/7 drawing all that juice.) This is a great feature and personally I am thrilled at the news because it is a big reason I got a PS3 and PSP this year. Frankly, I didn't expect they would roll it out this soon in 2007.
Mr. No Common Sense, you never have anything positive to say about the PS3, why the f.u.c.k do you read these article? Get your f.u.c.k.i.n.g r.e.t.a.r.d.e.d ass off this site and go f.u.c.k your 360.
being able to store movies and games on the ps3 instead of constantly adding/removing movies and games from a 4GB memory stick is amazing. Again, its not that everyone will do it, it's that they CAN do it.
Sorry there dildo, but I really can't find anything positive about the PS3 at this time.
Brag about it now but when you finally get the feature, I guarantee it will get used 1 time to see if it works, then maybe another to show your friend how high tec it is.
The PS3 uses over 250 watts of electricity and you're stupid if you're going to leave it on days or weeks at a time just to switch some movies or games because you play it constantly and just must have new content now.
I have a PSP with 4GB memory stick and I never need to be "constantly adding/removing movies and games." Then again, I only use it 30 min to an hour at a time. Do you play non stop for 8 hours or something?
I don't understand you people. You can buy a 4gb memory stick for like $80 then you don't need to worry about leaving the PS3 on or being in a wireless hotspot.
Common Sense people. You have none.
MCS you clearly dont understand the deifinition of common sense. As common sense to one person may be different to the common sense of another due to different backgrounds.
Also when you said 'how often will you be at a wireless hotspot with a PSP' - there will be plenty as 70% of all macdonalds have free wireless browsing, so do ASDA and many holiday camps provide it too.
Mr Common Sense
Your being a little arrogant with your reply. Seriously, different users have different needs. Perhaps you have no personal use for the new Remote Play option, but for those of us who run homebrew, emulated games and demos on our custom firmware PSPs, this feature could be handy(assuming someone can crack the new PSP firmware more than likely to be included with this new feature).
I have a 2GB Pro Duo and I'm out of space, my PS1 games take up one heck of a chunk of space and being able to stream video from my PS3 would be great! Its also nice to be able to access the photo collection, as my other portable devices(like my Archos 604) can't access my main PC wirelessly to find certain folders/images stored at home.
Their is use for every feature, but its user unique. Go enjoy your toy, quit criticizing it...
Mr common sense
It seems that everybody here are getting extremely sick of your constant bias comments on the ps3.
Oh yes the other day I asked you if you get paid by Microsoft to post in ps3 news sites...
Well are you? you must be one can not find everything that has to do with, lets say the ps3 wrong... theres bound to be something you even like about the ps3...
So as my friend Dodo said so kindly get your s.t.i.n.k.y b.i.a.s. a.s.s. out of here!!!!
That's funny you think I get paid by Microsoft. That's only a technique of sony's troubled marketing campaign. Remember when sony got caught for viral marketing?
I was there at the Threespeech event. This is the feature I've been waiting for! May be they should include an option remotely turn off PS3 or put it to standby. I have unlimited bandwidth, so that's not my concern.
The problem lies in the bandwith & proximity of the hotspot you're using, you'll prlly need at least 300kbps for download like the locationfree
as of right now, alot of apps can do alot of the stuff the ps3 can do i bet with pimpstreamer and other apps
Mr Common Sense is right you a s s h o l e s
I realize now that I am an i d i o t and Dodo is right
i got 3psps wih sustom firmware 18 ps3's which i am selling so check me out $$550$$ a piece.
And I'm teh santa
"I don't understand you people. You can buy a 4gb memory stick for like then you don't need to worry about leaving the PS3 on or being in a wireless hotspot."
Well I have 2 1gig sticks. I dont fancy spending on a 4gig, when I have 2 perfectly good memory sticks availble to me.
Now that is common sense... Jesus
I'll think ill use that money on some games instead, and use the location free player for my PS3 :)
PS3 CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've previously reported to you folks the supposed features of the firmware update - presumably PS3 firmware 1.6 -
