This game looks fun, but that music list just doesn't look good to me.
freewebs.com/edder2000
rap music":like lil wayne and snoop dogg
CHANGE THE COLOURS TO " X [] / O " AND IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER!!
avenger.hacker.googlepages.com
There are lots of other stuff there too.
Well Yngwie Malmsteen is on the list and hes one of the best Guitarists in the world!!
I like to joke around alot and say how shredders just play scales up and down really fast, but that's litterally what Malmsteen does.
I start up the game, go to song selection, choose a song, and it freezes and crashes my PSP. I didn't touch the src folder that came with the download, do I need to? Because I don't know how...
same for me, select song hit triangle, and it crashes. Or select song hit start, also crashes. lemme see if anything else will crash...
Put the SRC folder in Game and choose your stuff quick if not it will freeze.
the same thing is happening to me. You don't have to edit the src folder. Thats just for coders that want to see how it works and stuff
Practically impossible to control.
if it crashes for you then you probably went to the game only link. you have to click on full song list and it downloads the songs thats why it crashes there arent any songs in the game only link.
never mind i thought you were talking about it crashing when you go to select a song not acctualy selecting the song it will still crash right when you acctualy choose the song
Looks good, a mix of Guitar Hero with 2D characters from PaRappa the Rapper!
Legendary Theme, nice. Personally, I like Tainted Lovers (Gregario III's stage) better, though. Rest if the song list is pretty blah to my tastes, but good job anyway.
i cant get this to work at all it wont even load i put both folders in the game150 folder but it just crashes after the gameboot
great job nice 3d environments probably best homebrew game yet , so much potential
Is anyone getting past the song selection screen without ending up with a powered off PSP?
The title screen looks nice.. hope to play it soon. Better songs and having it not crash right away I would give this game the competition WIN!
Rock on
This game has SSSOOOO much potential, but it just isn't there yet, Keep it up hardhat!
it also crashes for me when choosing a song...
hardhat.. I hope you read these comments, please tell me you do! Anyway... if you've not heard of Frets on Fire, its an open source Guitar Hero sort of game for the Windows, Linux, and OSX. There are I think almost 500 songs (or more) out there on the internet for this program, and if you could make it compatible with these Frets on Fire songs (like that one PSP DDR clone was with Stepmania songs), it would be great.
Other than that, it's still a nice piece of work. Keep on working hard.
I wouldn't mind adding support for Frets on Fire. But I figure that someone will port it first. Maybe in a future release though.
the psp ddr clone is a port of DDR it actually can use the real songs from the game. So nothing has to be made for it.
will this homebrew work 4 psp version 3.11
hells no, custom firmware or 1.5 only baby.
it wont let me download
Keeps its ups Hardhat! Needs work and a little more clarity on the button make it nicer and you gots your self a hell of a nice work, but atleast you put out the first Guitar Hero styled game! Nice going!
I got everything to work and I can avoid the crashing but..... for me there is no energy meter and it doesn't keep score. It just sticks at X1 combo and 0000000 score. I don't have to hit the notes because whether I do or not it doesn't do anything. If you can get those things to work, I will worship you as though you were a god. Not really but it got you going didn't it ;)
It doesn't save high scores yet, but you can get points with hitting down arrow (to strum). If you play a guitar, you don't get any sound by chording, you also need to strum.
SRC = Source, Its the source to the game, So you can futher develop it and since it was entered in the contest, It was to prove the game wasnt stolen.
A little hypocritical to include a copyright notice pertaining to the code while disregarding the copyright of the songs used.
I know members of one of the bands and they were not aware of this, and though they themselves we're flattered, they DID say their label would be furious as well as litigious.
I like your site, please be a little more careful to not get it shut down with illegal activity.
To the best of my knowledge all of the songs that were included were by indie bands that don't mind MP3s being distributed. Was it a specific band that had an issue?
Also, shut up.
I know for a fact that 36 Crazyfists and Killswitch Engage are both signed. And the Gitaroo Man song is from a freaking game, one which recently got ported to PSP. So, uh, no.
wtf is the point of this, i freezes always for me. when i pick a song it freezes every time. i tryed 1.5 i tryed 3.03oe-c and 3.10oe
The unlawful downloading and sharing of recorded music in the form of MP3 and other small, lossy audio files is still stronger than ever, even after the demise of Napster and a series of infringement suits brought by the American recording industry. Promotional screener DVDs distributed by movie studios (often for consideration for awards) are a common source of unauthorised copying when movies are still in theatrical release, and the MPAA has attempted to restrict their use. Movies are also still copied by someone sneaking a camcorder into a movie theater and secretly taping the projection (also known as "CAM"), although such copies are often of lesser quality than officially released version of the film. Sharing copied music is legal in many countries, such as Canada, and parts of Europe, provided that this information is neither advertised, nor that the songs be sold
o avoid infringement claims, the right to make use of a copyrighted work can be acquired through an explicit contract or license with the author or publisher, through purchasing a lawful copy (which may provide a number of rights to the purchaser, as under the first-sale doctrine), and for certain types of media, statutory licenses (such as for reproducing and recording musical works under U.S. copyright law). Even without going through such channels to get prior authorization for use of the copyrighted material, doctrines such as fair use or fair dealing may provide potentially broad defenses to infringement claims. The failure of a copyright holder to bring a timely lawsuit against known infringers may later block such a claim by establishing an implied license, as may other acts or omissions that could informally signal consent to use the work.
For the most part, the criminal law is only used for commercial copyright infringement with one exception, and an offence is committed when, knowing or reasonably suspecting that the files are illegal copies, and without the permission of the copyright owner, a person:
* makes unauthorised copies e.g. burning music files or films on to CD-Rs or DVD-Rs;
* distributes, sells or hires out unauthorised copies of CDs, VCDs and DVDs;
* on a larger scale, distributes unauthorised copies as a commercial enterprise on the internet;
* possesses unauthorised copies with a view to distributing, selling or hiring these to other people;
* while not dealing commercially, distributes unauthorised copies of software packages, books, music, games, and films on such a scale as to have a measurable impact on the copyright owner's business.
* publishing someone else's original copy work and claiming you have made it. (This is known as plagiarism and is completely different than copyright infringement, but laws concerning it come under the section of copyright law in some countries)
The penalties for these "copyright infringement" offences depend on the seriousness of the offences:
* before a magistrates' Court, the penalties for distributing unauthorised files are a maximum fine of £5,000 ($9,202) and/or six months imprisonment;
* in the Crown Court, the penalties for distributing unauthorised files are an unlimited fine and/or up to 10 years imprisonment.
Also note s24 Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 which creates a range of offences relating to the distribution of any device, product or component which is primarily designed, produced, or adapted for the purpose of enabling or facilitating the circumvention of effective technological measures. When this is for non-commercial purposes, it requires there to be a measurable effect on the rights holder's business.
C+D orders are issued by mail.
Point made.
A "spokesman" that doesn't even know how to spell it. Nice copy and paste, retard.
THIS GAME SUCKS!!! first off most of the time it crashs, and the only i got to play was by pressing start all the time, and i noticed that its not even a game it doesnt keep your score and all it is is a like a video playing the buttons to press and when you do press the button all it does is light up this game sucks

I didn't even know those music genras used guitars.
why you all *****ing about the game,
it TOLD YOU that from the get it WILL crash
this is the START of what could be a great game.
now if it was made to use a GH controller
with the radioshack adaptor
then a adaptor to go to the ps mini usb
that would rock!!!
I own guitar hero 2 and the game is sweet
just the song list sucks...
and if you all look at his list provided
this is songs made by the GH community at scorehero.com
that are used to make custom GH cds to play on your ps2
or to play useing a pc based GH clone called frest on fire.
so... just so you know their is a TON more where that list came from, and they should work in theroy in this game
i wont download this untill it is actually playable
but it is great to see something like this for the psp.
And how is this legal? Not very news blog-like. Then again, it's QJ. A wolf in sheepskin.
