I loved this game, the fighting felt so real, now all we need is God of War for PSP and I'll be happy.
who made the previous warriors games on the consoles? was it also Rockstar?
Yes, here it is:
http://www.rockstargames.com/thewarriors/index.html
Is this a port of the PS2 "The Warriors" or is this a new game like the GTAs for PSP?
The Warriors is the greatest game in the world ever based on the greatest film in the world ever.
And now I'll be able to play it without going to my friend to mooch of his PS2.
From Wikipedia: "The Warriors is a beat 'em up video game released on October 17, 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It is based on the 1979 movie of the same name. It was developed at Rockstar Toronto, and is published by Rockstar Games...Both the game and the movie involve the same characters and locations. The primary difference, however, is in the fact that a large portion of the game takes place before the actual movie begins (including flashback missions, which go back to the beginning of the Warriors' gang), and the events of the movie itself take place near the end of the game."
I loved to play The Warriors on PS2. Great story, good action, great moves. A little bit like State of Emergency, simply miles better. Tons of side-missions, lots of 2-player action. Brilliant!
Would be great if the PSP version had new levels, but that's probably too much hoped
since the day i got my psp i've been saying that Warriors would be perfect for the platform.... now it seems like ill get my wish... So happy its ridiculus
This makes my brother want to get a psp.
I *****in love that game!
yeah The warriors is a good game, but yet again rockstar cant be bothered to create any new IP. I dont want to play games i already finished - with all the time they've wasted porting their games they could of made somthing new - 0/10 for originality.
I've never heard of the warriors and since you guys are praising it, then the game must be good. I'm going to wait til it comes out on PSP so I can have the portable experience.
I can't believe RockStar has a studio in Toronto!!!
Sweet. And maybe it'll hit the bargain bins as fast as the console versions did.
whats so mysterious about this game...everyone should know its gonna be a straight console port of the previous release...solid game, maybe they'll add some more missions to make it better.
this game it sooo much fun for the PS2... i love the multi-player...
YAY!!! Another port for the PSP. Way to Go Rockstar you own. Seriously why cant a developer make a original title for the psp? Is that so hard? If you want to just make ps2 games port for the psp port a GREAT game like Final Fantasy X. I guess as soon as psp gets some original titles Ill actually pay for there games rather them just downloading for free.
Or maybe you can just be brave and go steal the games straight from the store? Wimp..
fan-fecking-tastic!!
I was juts thinking the other day that this game would be amazing on the PSP. Now here's the new that the Warriors is coming to the PSP :) Whether it is a port, a whole new game, or a a port with extras, I'll be buying this the day it comes out.
I don't see why people frown down on ports. Many people may not have owned a ps2, or never got to play this game, so this will give more people a chance to play the game. Nintendo does some similar ports as well...not as many...why?...probably because their games aren't even good enough to port?
"The Warriors" was a great game that did terrible commercially. i can't blame them for trying to salvage some profit by releasing a PSP version, port or totally different game.
and the PSP is indeed called a "Playstation Portable," so i also expect it's fair share of ports. but games like Daxter, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Silent Hill: Origins, Tekken: Resurrection, Loco Roco, Exit, Metal Gear Acid, Untold Legends, etc are original titles, even though some of them use characters we are familiar with.
the people that bought a PSP bought it because they were expecting a portable Playstation. developers are delivering on that, and people complain.
personally, i just wish developers would take the time to understand that, when they are doing a port, that the PSP isn't 100% a Playstation 2. sure, graphically, it can deliver some amazing visuals, but it is lacking physiological features that keep it from being a true PS2. so i wish developers would make their port, but strip out mechanics and features that just won't work on the portable machine. there's no shame in taking things out of the portable version to make it a better game (i'm looking at you Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell. in fact, i'm looking at you Ubisoft, in general).
to the topic at hand, GTA on the PSP has been impressive, and Rockstar is a very underrated developer, simply because of the GTA series. Bully looks promising, the Warriors was great, Manhunt was a psychological exercise and a disturbing one at that, and GTA has yet to be surpassed in it's originality and scope in terms of the "sandbox" style gameplay for consoles (Saints Row doesn't count, as it's adding nothing to the GTA formula but Next Gen number crunching. it's a fun, but horribly blatant copycat. i expect GTA4 to blow it away). i expect the Warriors on the PSP to be just as great as it's Playstation 2 and X Box predecessor, and hopefully, this time, it will find an audience.
I LOVED the warriors for ps2 and look foward to it on the psp, and like mentioned before, wishing God of War is made. So, anyway, it still bums me out that every new game is going to require a higher firmware, this game will probably require 3.0, might it be a strategy so the consumer buys another psp? most likely, because im thinking of buying another psp just so i can still play the awesome selection of homebrew available. well,
on another note, how long will the loading time be? rockstar was horrible on midnight club dub edition, but did pretty damn good with gta.
i just played the gun port, it looks like crap compare to my pc version... seriously stop with the ports. They will just get bad reviews because the console vers. is way better. Whats so bad about original games? syphon filter, daxter, locoroco, killzone were all great... cheapass companies..
sweet hope it has co-op though i highly doubt it
This is such good news..
I loved the ps2 version and the movie to death! I cant wait for this!
