Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G breaks 670,000 mark on first day - Image 1If you were around when we reported on Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G's launch in Japan last week, you'll recall us mentioning that it was selling like hotcakes. Okay, that's probably an understatement, given that a report indicates that the game's sold roughly around 670,000 on the first day alone.

Breaking the figures down, the report further notes that 652,000 game copies were sold, with a further 17,000 being attributed to the PSP bundles.

While it's hard to confirm this at the moment, we note that Monster Hunter Freedom 2's launch last year totalled over 500,000 sales on the first day. That indicates that these initial readings for 2nd G's launch may not be too far off.

For now, we advise the readers to keep an eye out in case we can pick up more substantial info regarding the game's sales. If this info's accurate, however, it appears that Capcom's title is well in its way to breaking a million before the week's done.
