Can it be true? No more Oblivion for the PSP? - Image 1Here's a bit of bad news for those of you expecting to play Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion on the PlayStation Portable. Word from Kotaku has it that some of the people from Gamestop have reported that the company will be dropping any plans of continuing the handheld RPG adaptation of the PC hit.

The game was originally slated to be released last Spring, but its release date was pushed back and forth several times since then. Taking a look at the current list of available games on Gamestop's online store, it was confirmed that the PSP version of Oblivion has already been removed.

There has been no official word from Bethesda Softworks, nor from Climax's Portsmouth team, who are working on the game's development.

However, we are hopeful that we still might have a chance of seeing this great series having a PSP release, even if it won't be any time soon. Let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best then.

 » well,

If they do release it, I hope that it is playable as in the game still plays like or close to the pc version. Not like what that other company did with dynasty warriors for the psp. More like monster hunter freedom 2. But with more of an explorable environment and interactivity. I really liked the elder scroll 3 and if they would have made it available for the psp with coop or multi player, I would be very happy.

I doubt they'd drop the game after the amount of time they put into it. If they do then they set themselves back quite a bit for games that they could have been making.

Another thing is that Oblivion Travels for the PSP is supposed to be totally different game on the PSP than it was on the 360, PC, and PS3. It's not just the graphical change.
