Soundtracks in a game provide that extra nudge to push players into the game and of course, immersive gameplay and environments won't hurt a video game one bit. Well, that's probably what Ubisoft was thinking when it enlisted composers Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco to churn up music for the upcoming movie tie-in, Beowulf (PS3, 360, PC, PSP).

According to Manu Bachet, Music Supervisor at Ubisoft, the biggest challenge they had to face was the coordination of the music with all the activity going on in the game and that it had to meld with how the world of Beowulf was evolving. That meant turning the music from meager, barbarian beginnings to a full-blown Hollywood score.

"Within a very aggressive schedule, Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan managed to compose the most refined barbarian soundtrack ever heard on this side of the Danes kingdom," said Bachet.

Check out the download below for a sneak peek at Beowulf The Game's soundtrack, included in the download are original orchestral music scores entitled Grendel's Mother, Feudal Lands, and Blood Rage. We also pictures of the composers strutting their stuff at the Skywalker Sound studios, plus Beowulf's logo and a screenshot of the king himself, Beowulf.

We'll keep you posted on further developments about the game. In the meantime, check out the goodies below.
