Homebrew developer bumuckl dropped by the QJ.NET forums to inform us that the latest version of Eb0x v1.0 is now available for download at its official website. While there have been previously released programs with similar functions, Eb0x directly extracts any thumbnails and preview images from the EBOOT.PBP file right into your handheld. According to the latest numbers from the Media Create marketing group in Japan, it seems like the same old tune was being played about the top contender in both the software and hardware sales charts. The numbers for the week of May 5 to May 11 revealed that both Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii and Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G are once again the top charting titles in the country. Programming homebrew apps and games for the PlayStation Portable can be a gritty thing. Aside from having to contend with horrendous compilation times, you need to allocate a lot of hard disk space just to get these programs up and running. Fortunately, developer jsharrad was able to compile a homebrew SDK which puts together all the important tools and toolchains for developing programs for the PSP.

PlayStation gamers in North America recently got their weekly fix of downloadable goodies as Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) unveiled its list of new content on the PlayStation Store. This week's PlayStation Store updates include a lot of added game content for Hot Shots Golf, American Idol Encore, Rocketmen, as well as another regular update for Rock Band. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has just unveiled its planned launch lineup for this year up until early 2009. Killzone 2 will indeed be arriving by next year, although the PSP gamers will be getting a reprieve with an earlier-than-expected launch date for Secret Agent Clank.
