Definitely a must have for the PSP. I wonder what features it'll have...Gran Turismo TV psp? online races? downloadable tracks and vehicles? Finally a racing game for the PSP that I'm excited about.

I'm actually more excited for Motorstorm on PSP, it looks better but this game offers mroe realism so that might be were they spend some Memory and affects the graphics...stilll this might be a buy for me...

What 4 years have put in to GT for the PSP. It was expected back in 2005 when the PSP came out, but it was delayed time after time after time. I Guess Polyphony and Yamauchi were waiting for better hardware. I guess on the PSPGo, there will be no lag on the game because it will be on flash memory. But if this game is played on the Phat PSP which is the one i have, it might lag.

Once you've started the race; the track, cars, sounds are already loaded. So you won't have to worry about lag.

We better still get 3rd person mode.

   Re: hush404 - 2009-06-06
» Storage medium has nothing to do with lag

"Lag" is an online term in which one connection can't keep up a steady bit count and then you get noticible jumpiness as the game tries to compensate. That has nothing to do with flash memory, umd or any other media in which the game is stored. Also, if locked in at 60fps, as this games is, you won't see any slow-down ... as slow down is the slow down of fps... something the team is promising won't happen.

   Re: jrsmaster411 - 2009-06-06
 » no problem

you don't have to worry about lag cause their will most likely not be online play besides ad-hoc party

Is 60fps even possible on the PSP? These people are pushing it to the limit...

lol, 60 FPs is PSP's native fps, most games run at that (notice I said MOST)

4 months!? I want to go out and buy this, like, sooner!

   Re: RocSqualie - 2009-06-06
» come to think about it....

i really hope Sony comes through with dealing with cheaters online really soon (implement player kicking maybe?). with so many good games coming out with infrastructure mode it's really not going to be any fun online, say... with someone racing with the fastest highly tuned car in the game.

   Re: enigmaticdude - 2009-06-06
 » I Agree

There should be horsepower limits just like in GT2. That prevents anyone from completely overpowering any other racer and playing fair.
You don't know how much i play GTA IV multiplayer and have to deal with cheap killings like someone killing you with a copter or just blatantly running you over.
in GT5 multiplayer, they should be strict as to how much power each car could have.

   Re: LeXiO - 2009-06-06
 » think about it really....

I'm pretty sure when you enter a room/race, you'll be able to view which car your opponents will be using. So if your opponent uses such a car, you'll know.

Any veteran GT player knows that the GT series has always been about skill/technique over the car. The cars help...but it's skill before the car actually plays a role.

Looks decent but I've never been a Gran Turismo fan. I'm more into the arcade racers rather than the 'racing simulations' but it's another strong PSP title coming out so it's all good. Personally I'm looking forward to Motorstorm Arctic Edge. The PSP though seems to be by far the best handheld for racing games with Motorstorm and GT coming out and already having quality versions of Burnout, Ridge Racer, Midnight Club and so on.

 » Anti-Aliasing?

I don't really care about graphics, but I've noticed that if the PSP can be fitted with better anti-aliasing or a deeper resolution screen, then maybe these graphics of which everyone speaks could be boosted even more.

I stress that I don't care for graphics, I only care for the gameplay and entertainment, but that's just a piece of advice... maybe Go will have better A-A filters, that'll be cool.

Anyways: Can't wait for this game! Finally, a decent racer with realistic physics!

 » no

Go will have the exact same AA

   Re: hush404 - 2009-06-06
» The PSPGo is the same guts wise as the 3000

You won't see any new graphical tweaks (which anti-aliasing is) or features in the PSPGo over something like the PSP 3000. It has the exact same environment for running the game... it is the PSP with a new look more or less.

» They force us to wait this long for these grainy gfx?

If you these graphics are GOOD, you should take a look at NFS Rivals. These graphics are way too close to the grainy PSX games using pops.

   Re: Asskickulater - 2009-06-06
 » umm...

NFS rivals had bad graphics ) + this one (going off the pics) is better then NFS rivals..

 » crap

looked better in the pics during the PSP 1000 launch...no anti aliasing...

» If its like Rock Band

Then it will be pirated before release. That would be a shame, because it's a big release for Sony.

   by doubleaa25 - 2009-06-07
 » No RockBand Unplugged Repeats!

This game seems to be very stable and an awesome game to be released with the PSPGo. Hopefully it does not get leaked like RockBand did or I would feel bad for Sony.

» After 5 long years of announcing...

It's finally gonna be released, so I guess it wasn't vaporware after all.

Then again, for being in development for 5 years, you'd expect the graphics to be a little better.
