The newest entry in the Silent Hill saga, Silent Hill Origins tells the tale of a solitary truck driver stuck in the terrifying town of Silent Hill while making a routine delivery.

Poor guy, huh? Well, his bad luck is good news to gamers, as Silent Hill Origins for the PSP brings with it a load of new gameplay elements, such as a barricade system that lets players block off rooms from enemies. An enhanced camera system also adds to the sense of isolation and anxiety in this frightening addition to an already terrifying survival-horror franchise.

If you're looking for a taste of things to come, here's an in-game video of Silent Hill Origins straight from Leipzig. And since this game is a prequel to all the Silent Hill games that have been released, our previous article on the whole series' history might interest you. Enjoy, folks.

Woah! If that was the actual in game footage of the PSP version, then all I can say is that the graphics are brilliant! I hope I get this game!

 » Awesome.

This looks like it's going to be quite a good game, I can't wait to get the chance to play it. The camera angle looks like Resident Evil 4, I totaly loved that in that game.

Its kinda sad when other game company copy another game company's idea. It goes to show how little effort they put into this game to make it more "original".

games no a days are just not unique, but when those unique titles comes out it owns so bad (FF7 release, DMC1, etc). Then those copied idea cames like "True Crime: Streets of LA" just sucked soo bad, GTA wannabes. This game might just suck =[

the controlls didnt look to be very good from how the guy was moving in the begining. and it didnt really show much at all.

Its silent hill, the most importanting is the story mode, the mods and the angles are not too important.

 » Brilliant

Finally some one picked up on what RE4 did right. The PsP has no second analog stick so the RE4 control set up is beautiful, i've been saying it since the system launched and finally someone figured it out.

I know they're copying, but i'd rather game companies move forward than stay still in fear of looking like copycats, we as gamers benefit in the end anyhow.

Now i wanna see RE5 on the psp.

» Is that a laser on his gun?

Although I see the practical uses with the laser sight on a gun in the game...wouldn't it be better (as in more suspenseful) without it? I mean, the guy is supposed to be a truck driver, not a trained cop. Tradition is the Silent Hill main characters are not experts with guns. The added "human-error" element brings the game to a more realistic level, don't you think?

*cough* Resi 4! *cough*

They should leave Capcoms style alone! This is why i liked Silent Hills and the room, cus they were different to the resi evils... damn...

» wow... way to show us the action!

Is it just me, or was that the most boring pointless video ever! We got to see a guy walk around and switch weapons while almost walking into walls.

And I thought the same thing... this looks eerily like Resident Evil 4. Now thats scary!

 » That's not a Silent Hill :(

What a shame. Resident Evil in Silent Hill town. That wasn't the essence of Silent Hill.

Maybe the game it's fun, but not a pure Silent Hill title. Not interested at this point. I hope to get wrong. :(

 » Hmmm

A Resident Evil 4-esque viewpoint? This definitely wasn't what I was expecting.

And I agree that the laser scope on the gun just dosen't look right.

Oh well, I still have high hopes for this game, and I'll definitely be getting it.
