Simon Jeffrey: Sega not interested in merger - Image 1Even with the encouraging state of Sega, Simon Jeffrey, chief executive of the U.S. arm of Sega Sammy Holdings Inc., spoke about their company's stand on mergers.

With regard to the big news on the merger between Activision and Blizzard, Jeffrey said that, "That's not an area we want to play in right now. We have no interest in being acquired, we are very happy with our position right now."

Further more, Jeffrey stressed that they're conscious of their current standing in the gaming industry. Companies need not to merge in order to succeed. Jeffrey noted,

There is plenty of room for smaller companies to be successful and profitable in this business. You don't have to be number one or number two. You can be number six very happily.

Very good! I'm glad Sega is staying itself.
