Simple Popstation Gui V2.21 Beta

Version 2.21 beta of ZiNgABuRgA's simple PopStation front end has now been released and is available for download. With this easy-to-use GUI, you can easily convert your PSX games to 3.03 OE-B playable format. It can also patch pre-made EBOOT.PBP files and handle save file fixes.

The download below includes all of the necessary files including the KEYS.BIN and BASE.PBP files. You can also use it to extract ISOs from EBOOTs (including compressed EBOOTs), as well as preview and compress your EBOOTs.

Changelog:
  • EBOOT reconstructing is now implemented - meaning that you can now add larger images to already made EBOOTs
  • Numerous bug fixes
  • Transfer to PSP after conversion option
  • Shows game region (useless IMO, but it does mean that my program has ALL the features of PSX2PSP now)
  • Interface cleanup
  • Now uses a "clean" BASE.PBP file

Yay no first comment, Great app. I love the "I Am a BUTTON" Button, very funny touch.
Also notice the part that says "clean" base.pbp for all those asking about legal questions.

Just saying that you're not going to say first comment, is in a way actually saying first comment.

Pardon me, but ain't that base.pbp an EBOOT.pbp from the game Hot Shots Golf 2 thus making it kinda... well, illegal? Just wonderin :x

Great app though, even though I do have problems greating isos to be used with this tool. I have ripped all the files from my Crash Bandicoot 1 to my hd, and im using WinISO to greate iso file from the ripped files, but when i convert the iso to eboot, my psp wont run it... So, um, any tutorials?

I have been having the same problem. I tried it with Jeopardy and Tennis, and after the default intro, the screen goes black.

Still ill, Kyle

i knda know the creater of this and he told me it was best to convert you game in a .bin/cue or .img/.ccd/.sub format so that way you have no problems with it and about the base .pbp i dont think its the whole thing what im saying is i dont think you can take the base and rename it to eboot.pbp and play it tho i havent tried i cud be wrong but i llike this GUI best

 » not illegal probly

he is using a "clean" eboot i've come across some on the web that are only 1.3meg each so i'm guessing they don't contain any illegal code

Yes, we do need this, because it's the first GUI that's given options on the PAL conversion.

   Re: Snarg (Unregistered) - 2007-01-11
 » .

Wrong.

The only thing this does that PSX2PSP doesn't do (yet) is extract compressed iso's

   Re: zzzzzz (Unregistered) - 2007-01-11
 » .

Actually PSX2PSP was the first with the PAL -> NTSC fix. This one is the only one, however, which fixes the Graphics as well.

- Extract compressed ISOs
- CUEsheet handling
- DocMaker + extract DOCUMENT.DAT files
- Extract all files from EBOOT
- PAL->NTSC Graphics fix
- Game Selection dialog + multi-disc auto fix
- Ability to delete files from EBOOT

PSX2PSP is good, but has some catching up to do...

 » CDDA?

does this gui popstation CDDA support on it i just did time to kill and there is no CD music?

Ellis

   Re: zinga (Unregistered) - 2007-01-11
 » Yep

The GUI includes the CD-DA popstation by Tinnus and rck, so it does handle CD-DA, through CCD/TOC. This GUI also supports CUE.

I seem to get a black screen every time I try and load a game of my own. I can press home and exit that way, but I never get to any intro screens, other then the default one, or anything. I used Alcohol 120% to get the files, and yes I am using 3.03 oe-b. Any suggestions.

» Other settings in Alcohol 120

You know when you saving the image file..on the right it tells you what image format to save it as, try saving it on CloneCD Image File (*.ccd)....That should work for you.

 » @darksiderook

Why would you waste that much memory stick space on Marvel Vs. Capcom for PSX? For one, you cannot tag out, thus making it a joke of a game/port. Secondly NJ made a bada$$ emulator called CPS2, maybe you should check that out. It plays all of Capcoms arcade fighters perfectly. Including Marvel Vs. Capcom, will take up less space on your stick and work better.

Justa thought thought.

I still can't get the games to work. I keep getting a black screen. I using in 3.03 oe-b.

   Re: zinga (Unregistered) - 2007-01-11
 » .

Try using BIN+CUE or IMG+CCD instead of ISO, if that's the case. If you're using BIN+CUE, load the CUE file into the program.

Thank you Zinga, but how do I get those types of files from my own games, because I used the program alcohol 120, and it gave me MDF files.

 » great app...

This is great, works well and all..now if only sony's psx emulator was working correctly... i still have a few games that will randomly crash...kinda funny how this psx emulator has EXACTLY the same faults as the ps1 emu in the PS2...the same bugs...and as i heard, the ps3 also has problem coping with previous games, yes? how can sony not be able to fully emulate their own products? i've seen pc emulators work better than their next gen consoles...i'm getting off topic again, great app! now if only their was a tutorial for how to make a proper PIC0.PNG...i can make one but i can't make it transparent. starting to be tedious to identify the game you want to play when all the icons are the same, hehe...

 » Stupid forums

I really hate how the mods in the forums are always on a powertrip. Posting such a GUI just one week ago would probably get you banned and you wouldnt be able to discuss such things. It just ticks me off how the forums always follow rules so damn strictly. Even though I'm pleased this GUI is now not a taboo, theres still some other stupid rules rampant on the forums being enforced by mods who have such as no compatibility list for PS1 games yet other emulator compatibility lists are fine. So a big F*** you to the facist QJ forums and a few of it's mods.

   Re: zinga (Unregistered) - 2007-01-12
 » hmm

Hehe, one of the reasons why I post at PSP-Hacks instead, and don't really bother with QJ. I guess big sites have to be strict though...
