Sleep'n'Wake PSP v1.0 - alarm app for the PSP - Image 1


MK2k has released a pretty useful alarm application for the PSP over on QJ's PSP Development forums. Called Sleep'n'Wake PSP, this homebrew app lets users doze off to the soothing sounds of their favorite track and wake up to the loud music of their choice or to the beeping alarm sound bundled with the package. Here's a list of the available features so far:
  • Full cbr/vbr/abr 8kbps-320kbps 44.1kHz MP3 support
  • MP3 can be of arbitrary length
  • Manage different playlists for Sleep and Wake modes (add/remove mp3s, save/load playlists)
  • In Sleep mode you can set a special, more silent volume
  • Wake mode is entered at a preset time with volume maxed (you can always adjust the maximum volume with the VOL + and - keys)
  • Write yourself a message which will be displayed in Wake mode
  • USB Mass Storage can be enabled/disabled within the app
Installation and usage instructions are in the readme file included in the download. Sleep'n'Wake PSP will run under Firmwares 1.0, 1.5, and 3.xx OE. All other custom firmware have yet to be tested for compatibility. For bug reports, comments, and suggestions, click on the "visit" link below.

I will totally use this so I wont be late for school in the morning. This is perfect! I can plug my i-Trip for my PSP into my PSP and then turn on my stario to listen to music I want. Nice job dude!

lol, why do you need to enable USB in a alarm clock.
I saw a game a while ago, and with that game, you could reaster the pc, or log off the pc, now psp homebrew is also implenting stoped functions that do not belong there.
USB in a alarm clock...rrrrrright...

As this app uses MP3s you can enable the USB Mass Storage to quickly throw some MP3s on the memstick while the app is running. If you don't need it, don't use it.

It is recommended to plug in the power cable, a message is displayed when there is no power cable plugged in. How about just using the app, a video isn't really necessary.

nnnnnope, you cannot suspend the psp to standby and hope it gets up with this app. You must have the psp running (turn the screen off, push the power button to lock and hook up the power cable) and let it go :)

Cheers man, there already exist one called PSPAlarm, but I thought that it lacked too much on features. The greatest disadvantage was that it could not play larger MP3s.

i leave my psp on and in the cradle with power ALL teh time. I NEVER turn my psp off. This would actually improve the battery life because it uses li-lon batteries. read up on them. / discharging them
