Quinnsoft (aka darkshadow88 in our forums) has updated his PSP game "So Do We Have a Deal or What?" to version 0.20. In this game you have to choose among the cases for different values. More details can be found in the readme. Here is the changelog:

0.20:

  • Statistics for total earnings, total possible, and a ratio between the two added.  Total possible is defined as either the highest offer, the value of the player's case, or, in the UK version, the other case if the game gets to the last two cases, whichever is greatest.

0.12:

  • First UK Version
  • Your case is now highlighted green

You will need Lua player to play this game.

Download: [So Do We Have a Deal or What? v0.20 UK Version]

Thanks for the hint, Quinnsoft!

I dont really like the GUI

Could you make the game into an eboot?

 » #10, I tried

I tried to make the game so that it does not require Lua Player but I got compile errors when compiling Lua. If anyone knows how to do it, PM me on the forums or post here.

 » Great game

Loving the english version. However, I have a few suggestions:

1. Could you show what money has just gone from the box you open? By the screen flashing and erasing one money thing from the side, it's hard to tell what has just gone.
2. After accepting the deal, can we carry on? With the UK version, the game carries on as though they hadn't dealt. That way you can see if you dealt at the right time, and whether you could have gotten a higher offer even if your box turns out to be lower.

Other than that, great game

did u get the idea from the person that posted the comment in the lottery one? because that person was me

I had already had the idea, but I didn't think there'd be such a huge demand for it. When you mentioned it, I figured I'd do it mainly because I had some free time and I felt like writing a program. With the huge response to the first version, as well as demands for a UK version, I started getting serious with it.

By the way, version 0.30 is now available on my site, which includes a 2-player option as well as the first of #12's suggestions.
I'll add the ability to carry on after accepting the deal in a later version.

yeah its a very good game..i agree with marv101. would like to see what could have happened after deal....

 » Thanks

Thanks for the update. But I've noticed a couple of glitches in the UK version as well. I first noticed that sometimes MY box contained £0. Absolutely nothing. I then later saw that if you press right next to 22, you can select 23, 24, 25, and 26. I think these two errors might be linked. Obviously the UK version is based on your US version, yeah? Well something must have happened when changing to 22 boxes, but the other 4 boxes still exist. Therefore 4 boxes must contain zero values.

Just thought I'd let ya know

 » few things

First off I love this game Great job! but I think you should add some sounds like a "beep" or "click" when you switch from case to case. Also a background song would be cool too and a happy song if you son't get to much money and a happy song if you win alot.

I sent you an email with some suggestions, looks like you are headed in the right direction, if he keeps up this pace the game should be just about perfect pretty damn soon....

 » Bug fixed

Marv101, the bugs you found are indeed related. The problem was that I forgot to change the code for the initial selection of the boxes to not allow 23-26. If you select one of those 4 boxes, your box will contain 0 because I had correctly changed the box-filling code to only "fill" 22 boxes. I have released version 0.311 UK to fix this.

#18, in version 0.31/0.311 (on my site now), there are sounds, including cheering when you open a low value and "awwwing" when you open a high value. There is also a phone sound, but it is not very audible. Actually, all the sounds are rather quiet. For the next version I'll probably fire up Sound Recorder and raise the volume a bit.

Good changes man, in the right direction.

I never even heard the phone, the sounds are certainly too low...
