Sony Japan has added ten new downloadable PlayStation titles to its PlayStation Store offerings. These PSOne classics can be downloaded to the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 video game platforms for 600 yen (around US$ 5) each. Here's a list of the new titles:

  • PSN - Image 1Sanwa Pachinko Paradise
  • Sanwa Pachinko Paradise 2
  • Alundra
  • XII Jumbo
  • Popologue
  • Hanafuda Graffiti Koikoi Monogatari
  • Echo Night #2
  • King's Field III
While this is already a sizable addition, what's even bigger news is that this is only the first of two updates. Apparently, the Japanese PlayStation Store will be getting two archive updates a month starting this month. We'll bring you more updates as soon as the next batch of PSOne titles are announced.

Klonoa Door to Phantomile would be great, but then again I'm already playing it on my PSP thanks to custom firmware. But it freezes when you beat the last boss so you don't get to see the ending. But I saw it on youtube so no harm done. Though I didn't get to play the extra stage after the game. Hmm. Hopefully Sony will be able to perfect PS1 emulation. If they don't, then I feel sorry for the PS3 owners who don't have the 60 GB model with the emotion engine chip which allows full backwards compatibility.

That`d be bloody well right. They add a heap of good games (Alundra is one of my all time favorite games of all time) but only on the Japanese PSN which means their all in Japanese. They better be putting them up on the other PSN networks. Great to see some a PSN update for a change though in either case.
