Sony has made many promises before on raising PSP and PS3 interconnectivity. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't include more games - aside from Resistance: Retribution - being able to use the PSP via the DualShock 3. In case you haven't heard of the function yet, Resistance: Retribution will be able to connect to the PS3's Resistance 2 via "Infected mode." Aside from changing the storyline significantly, it also allows you to use the DualShock 3 to play on the PSP, vastly improving your control over your character with a second joystick. A Sony rep said they aren't even considering the possibility of integrating this tech with future games yet. The tech is still in the hands of Retribution's studio, Sony Bend. There are so many possibilities they could do with this, and I hope they do consider it soon. A lot of PSP games will undoubtedly benefit from a second joystick. |

that would kick ass if they did it.

» Whats the point?
The PSP is a mobile device. If you have to have it plugged into the PS3 for a game, whats the point? You may as well just have written the game for the PS3 in the first place and be done with the PSP. I doubt it will drive any extra sales of the game (maybe a few more sales of ps3 if people REALLY like the game?).

I can't wait till someone hacks this in custom firmware for every game, giving us another reason not to use official firmware

This can be done for every game, all you need is a controller connected to a PC and RemoteJoy, by using these two you can display the PSP screen on your PC and play using a controller.
I tried this and it was great, if you have a PSP Slim it'll work even better as the compatibility of games with RemoteJoy is higher on the Slim than it is on the Phat.

» Retribution's studio vs. Sony: 1-0
This feature must be pretty embarrassing for Sony, since people have been complaining about the lack of a second stick ever since the first release of the PSP. If anything, it will hopefully put a lot of pressure on Sony to implement a second analog stick in future versions of the PSP.

Spiderman web of shadows also has the psp plus(ds3 control) feature built into it. so I guess they were wrong as that came out months ago but wasn't advertised for having the capabilities.
