The US economy has been on shaky ground lately, but Sony Corporation assures that the company's electronics line is unaffected. Chief Executive Howard Stringer cites Black Friday sales as a good indication of this, saying that PS3 and PSP sales were "very good."

Black Friday sales usually give a fair idea of how holiday sales would turn up and Sony did have a fine Black Friday growth indeed. Stringer is also optimistic for the arrival of PlayStation Home, which he sees as a key factor in the company's growth.

PlayStation Home, he says, "[will] put us in the direct line of fire with Apple Inc and Microsoft Corp," with both major companies offering non-gaming media services such as music and movie downloads. There's been a lot of excitement surrounding Home and might cause quite a stir on its release but we'll have to wait a bit more to see what happens.

 » I'm still waiting...

... for this highly touted HOME for PSP where
you can walk around and design your home,
have friends join your games ect. ect. ect.

I'm starting to believe this is just vaporware
to keep the money machines cogs twisting.

HOME for PSP has been talked about for a
year now yet no fruit has fallen off SONY's
feces tree.

Just another point to drive the seething
masses to purchase for SONY's Vapor Idea's.

 » Um no

Its Home for PS3 not PSP. unless they allow you to remote connect it some how. Stuff like this needs time to be perfected, its supposedly going to be the biggest thing for Sony besides game in 08. I want a close to perfect home than a rushed up $hit.

I would rather have ingame XMB access than home personally, unless they launch together.

Maybe Home will blow me away, but it could just be a way to advertise and sell you crap. I really don't know much about it.
