FIRST MAYBE?
I bought three UMD movies since launch day, The few anime series to get a UMD release got canceled before the third disc. Then you got movies that sank like the Titanic. I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT 2 FREAKING YEARS AGO $ONY. Where is a decent UMD audio disc for my collection. Now that you admit you have a problem be a man and fix it. People are complaining about load times a bit too much though, Chrono Trigger on the PS-ONE anyone? NOW THATS BAD LOAD TIMES!!! Just be glad they try most of the time. At least you aren't screwing us over like you did with the PS2 HDD and PSBBN
I was happy with....however it's a pain to carry lots of UMD's...AND I already had most of the movies on DVD...
What Sony should start doing is pkg UMDs with blu-rays....as most people that got a PSP will get a PS3 when they go next-gen.....i'm getting one when they are cheaper...
but most people who bought a PSP probably won't buy a PS3 because IT BLOWS (right now)
ur right with that. i have a PSP and the way i look at it, the PSP is like a mini PS3. like how the DS is sort of like a mini Wii. the PSP has ***** for games. the DS does. so i got a wii, not a PS3
i was just to say the umd and blu ray idea it would be a lot better for sony and it would be grate if they sold it at a resonable price
Im flattered thank you for spoofing my name. Ive only been posting for a couple days and Im popular enough for people to pretend to be me. Thank you.
"wow that didnt take long
Im flattered thank you for spoofing my name. Ive only been posting for a couple days and Im popular enough for people to pretend to be me. Thank you. "
you're an idiot
yea, also, I've bought six games since launch, the latest of which is lumines for the illuminati exploit
Essentially, the PSP was aiming at males from 18 to 35 years old but the movies released in the UMD format didn't match that demographic. The lack of attention in the right areas invited in a lack of popularity.
---------------------------------------------
no you stupid *****, the reason was that you stupid *****s were pricing them as high as standard fully featured dvds, thats why they failed you moron!
umd movies wont make any kind of comeback. you missed the boat. even ifyou price them reasonably now, i doubt the studios will risk getting burned twice, especially given that many people who WOULD buy movies on umd, allready have discovered how much easier/better it is to keep em on the memory sticks.
Why does sony keep these retarded phucks
no one buys umd maybe if they put a umd drive on the
ps3 they may have sold some with its upscaling feature
could have been sweeeeet
Let's go over some of his lies from his interview:
"I think Sony proved that we meant business with the PS1, with a ten-year lifecycle."
The PS1 was released in 1995 in Japan. Even later in the US. The last new games were made in 2002. The very last games were taken out of stores in 2003. That's a 7 or maybe an 8 year life cycle at best.
Interviewer: "I might have to call you on PlayStation products always being reliable - when the PS2 came out, the first iteration did have some bad drive problems."
PD: It did, right. But they've always had a high level of quality, and we stand behind them. And this one is the highest of any. The PlayStation 3 is a terrifically engineered product."
Wha wha what? Sony admitted a mistake? Well in the past, but still? Remarkable!
PD:"We've got a development organization that is larger than Nintendo's and Microsoft's combined"
Don't make me laugh. Is that provable? I thought Nintendo had the most exclusive games (due to easy and cheap development with obsolete technology) with Microsoft close behind. I can't find an article now, but I definately wouldn't believe sony!
PD: Let's just pose a couple of questions. So their prospect for a ten-year lifecycle with the Xbox: you've got an inconsistent design. Some of them have a hard drive, and some of them don't. None of them have a Blu-ray player, and the HD-DVD will be out of business in a matter of months. Is this a ten-year product? By the way, it doesn't even work, so do they want to be selling it for ten years and refurbishing them all for ten more years? I don't think that's a ten-year product. You or they could disagree with me, but I'd put that up against the PS3 anyday.
That classic statment makes me want to punch this moron. I've already been over this, but the PS3 won't last 10 years, the PS1 didn't (even though you blatently lied about it) and if the PS2 does it's only because the PS3 is failing. I have absolutely no interest in a blu ray player because it won't play all HD movies and sony's trying to force it onto everyone (hence the European Union investigation.) Falcon chips will permanently fix the reliability issues with the 360. Unlike the first XBOX, the 360 has far better exclusives and a wider range of games which will make it last much longer (this is the same thing that allowed the PS2's 8 year lifespan.) It will not be a repeat of the XBOX!
"There have been some hiccups, but I think reports of the UMD's demise have been greatly exaggerated. "
KIND OF LIKE WHEN YOU EXAGGERATED AND SAID HD-DVD WOULD BE DEAD WITHIN MONTHS? MAYBE HUH? Why are almost no stores selling UMD movies any more? It's a failed format!
F*CKING LYING IDIOT!
I'm watching everything you say Peter. Fact checking every statment that comes out of your overpaid fantard mouth. Even if I had a faint interest in eventually getting a PS3 or any other sony product in my lifetime, I suddenly lost it there.
Which Final Fantasy remake came out on 04,08,2003 on the PS-ONE? It was Final Fantasy Origins. Or how about those Atlus reprints last year, you know Rhapsody and Persona 2. ^.^ SCPH-5x0xx was supposed to fix the Disc Read Error but even the slimlines have problems from time to time. UMD is dead because these guys don't listen to their customers, see my rant above and I forgot one up there too, the pocketstation. I do have to give M$ a lot of credit for their efforts to fix the problems, they beat sony in every possible way.
A) I suppose you have no idea what he means when he said "development organization". No, it doesn't mean 3rd party support; it means people from SCEA, SCEI, and SCEE.
B) 100 crappy exclusives don't beat out one great exclusive. If you would like an analogy, all of the Disney and filler games for the PS2 didn't measure up to say...Halo?
C) It's a matter of months for HD-DVDs. The war has only started since the drive was released for the XBox 360. Universal is the only company who hasn't jumped ship...but money talks. They'll jump on the bandwagon soon enough and that'll be all she wrote. Besides, I'm willing to bet only 10% of 360 owners will be willing to buy it since they only "bought their systems to play games, not watch movies on TV's they can't even afford." If they're willing to spend all that money, why not get a PS3 in the first place instead of having to take the chance of seeing the rEd RiNg Of DeAtH.
D) The PS1 had an 8 Year lifespan. The PS2? Who knows? It's 10 year anniversary is just around the corner. With the PS2 still outselling every console out there, I don't see it dying in a couple of months. The PS3? Why don't you do some research on Cell technology. If you compare games today, the XBox 360 and PS3 are head to head in terms of graphics, although MS had a headstart. Soon enough, developers'll be able to tap the most out of the 360 where as the PS3 will have more to tap into. READ

E) I love your logic. If you were a Sony fanboy, you'd probably sound something like this:
"Its pathetic that M$ had to leave the failing XBox behind and hop on their 360 boat. So sad to see that the 360 is only doing a little better than the OG Xbox in terms of sales on a quarterly basis. At that rate, it's going to be the next Dreamcast, minus all the pirating, while the Wii is the next PS2 defending it's title against Sony and who ever else that decides to enter the fight. Peter Moore did the right thing in jumping to EA, since M$ was sinking like the Titanic. He did the right thing of extending the warranty and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Death to M$ and Vista. 2onasnfisnao13294u203hown!!!!@!$%!$"
Wow...just utterlyy. Wow.
Spector, Peter Dille IS a f*cking paid moron sony liar, period. He is unprofessional, he's an as*hole, and what he's doing is unethical. Only companies on the losing side make comments like that.
