You shouldn't underestimate the power of sony in the ps3 market. They already outsold xbox 360 sales and are in competition with the Wii. I sure those four 60 gigs are new and you still see if they are still there. If not, its ethier a demo, or too expensive for people to afford.... Yet. Sony makes good products. Thats why you are here in SONY's psp updates.

I think the main reason for the PSPs drop in sales is sony's failure to price cut the item. Sure software might be up 25%, but that increase is still lagging behind the DS which is on fire at the moment.
I don't think homebrew is killing the PSP, every system gets hacked and still manages to do well.

because I sure haven't even SEEN one for sale since it's launch back in November. All I see are sold out signs.
As for PSP sales up, it should be no surprise that it is up at all, because since there is more hardware being sold, bigger install base should equal more software sold (plus the fact that MGS:PO was released).

Sony must double or even triple what could be considered a realistic shipment target. There's absolutely no reason the PS3 sales will double by march as sony expects. They only shipped 2 million in 2 months with the temporary launch demand. They're just trying to keep their shares from plummeting. I know if I had any sony shares I would be dumping them ASAP!

If that isn't sacrcasm, that's a pretty pathetic attempt at a correlation (and we all know how useful those are). Maybe a better explanation would be the release of some pretty anticipated titles during that quarter like MGS:PO, GTA:VCS, Lumines 2, etc.

The PS3 -
At its price ( argue all you like that it has this or that built in BUT put simply most people will not lay that sort of money down just for a Game console alone in fact most just cannot afford to ), I really dont see where it can go its sort of stuck in a market edging more towards the film player than a games machine.
I had a PS2 my neighbor 2 doors had one his neighbor had one etc etc BUT not myself or any people I have asked will ever pay the money they want just for what is supposed to be primary a games machine,even if the alternative option of the 360 wasnt here I still dont think anyone I know would of gone the PS3 route.
Once the hardcore PS fans buy theirs I think the sales will dry out quickly by Mid April,and with the AAA titles being launched for the 360 and the Wii also again available its gonna be an even tougher time.

Basically anyone calling the PS3 dead at this point is making a huge jump of the gun. I'm sure when someone you know has a kid and it's three months old you predict how well it will do it college.
At this point in time yes the Wii is trendy and everyone wants one. For me Warioware might be the only game I'm really enjoying on the system. The DS is still a solid system with good titles coming up, but the PSP at the moment is having just as many great games released on it. They are basically getting equal playtime from myself. 360 is doing well despite it's recurring hardware malfunctions that still plague it a year after its release, and as usual it's got its new shooters coming out (I speak of exclusive games when I say that). Not that I don't enjoy these games (I do), it's just there is some more variety I need, which is why I'm glad Rogue Galaxy and God of War II are coming out soon (also please don't try and argue the whole 360 has other games because outside of shooters it's range of exclusive titles is limited. I do acknowledge Viva Pinata though cause that game is fun).
The PS3, right now, is truely misunderstood by the general public and is getting more than its fair share of hating on. With it's biggest hardware problem being a loose HDD which can be fixed without voiding the warrenty (and not rampant either), yet people still seem to be on a rampage about its alleged overheating (I love telling people I've had mine on for over 20 days straight and then hearing their informative tone disapate).
If I had to make a prediction I'd say the PS3 will go the way of the current seasons. Warming up in the spring when games like Motorstorm, Lair, and Virtua Fighter (I know it is crossplatform but PS3 still has an earlier release by a few months) come out (along with crossplatform games like Assasin's Creed). In the summer people will warm up to it even more with Heavenly Sword. From there it will hold that warmth straight into the fall and holiday season where it will truely come into it's own with Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's most anticipated titles getting closer.

It's not wishful thinking that 360 has hardware issues seeing as they needed to extend the warrenty on them to a year since they were having so many problems, and also 360 has bricked consoles after firmware updates Sony doesn't.
Sony has already started with 1 firmware update to remedy the graphic issue in backwards compatible games if that's the dead horse your beating, otherwise it's graphics are fine (and digital not analog).

Blue Dragon is a good RPG, but its 1 RPG. Heres how you top it... White Knight Story and Final Fantasy XIII.
C and C Tiberium Wars... is coming out for PC, I much rather play RTSs like that on PC it's tons faster.

The psp has about one good game that isn't a remake. The ds this year is coming out with dragon quest ix and zelda. and for the kiddies and some adults pokemon will slam it out of the park. Bricked consoles !?, oh you mean the ones who updated their DVD Firmware to play the so called backups and wished they now didnt EH EH ?,and I suppose you think Sony wont put a stop to it through their firmware updates and brick theirs to i.e as in PSP Firmware updates you get what I mean ? as I said just wishfull thinking on your part as the Year warranty is just coming into line with Europe.

Oh and anyone who buys an HDTV and wants it for more than Blu Ray or HD-DVD or Next Gen console games is being fooled in, Europe at least (I know I was one who bought one),its a load of crap if you have terrestrial/Freeview/ or normal Saterlite transmission it looks terrible and blocky and all you really have until HDTV is broadcast as the norm (years away) is a large PC monitor that also shows terrible normal TV pics, just like converting an analogue video onto a dvd then watch it on a PC it looks shiet.
Despite the 360 problems yer right as if that is not total BULL from the outset to.
Bricked consoles !?, oh you mean the ones who updated their DVD Firmware to play the so called backups and wished they now didnt EH EH ?,and I suppose you think Sony wont put a stop to it through their firmware updates and brick theirs to i.e as in PSP Firmware updates you get what I mean ? as I said just wishfull thinking on your part as the Year warranty is just coming into line with Europe.
Half life 2 is better than Gears ! oh right is it ? well thats good then as it comes to the 360 soon to. BUT what has HL2 got to do with consoles its a PC game and also all the other ones where you use the PC as an alternative i.e Tiberium Wars(exclusive 360 multiplayer maps and Live vision cam use.) what has the PC got to do with it ? and of course you want to quote PC then if you can afford to keep it updated to play games graphic card etc then why bother with a console anyway?.
Blue Dragon is a good RPG, but its 1 RPG,!!
Well you will be glad to know designer of Final Fantasy series and now Blue Dragon originator Hironobu Sakaguchi is releasing a second one soon its called Lost Odyssey.
Final Fantasy is old why do you think Hironobu Sakaguchi moved on.
Banjo Kazooie 3 ! try asking a Nintendo owner what is One of their favorite games ever? you will find the word Banjo in it and you say -

You think LOST PLANET is just a shooter ?(then you have not played it but then looking from the same point of view METAL GEAR SOLID 4 (originally a PS1 game ! how original)is also just a shooter.
Fable 1 YOU say was overated ? then why did so many people like it do you think your view is above theirs ? and also Final Fantasy I think is ridiculously overrated,take away all the boring FMV and those TEDIOUS fight sections i.e you fire I fire you fire etc etc ZZZZzzzzzzz and you have a 5 hour game.
Bioshock you say is just a shooter ? Yer right go watch a demo and see if you can just run around shooting it has a ton of stragedy but then again you proberly just missed that eh eh?.

Ok, personally, about Bioshock, I would hate to play that game on the 360 because of the fact you got to use a controller. Controllers take away from the fun of a shooting game. Any shooting games I play are usually on the PC where I kick as in them(BF 1942, BF 2, BF2142. HL2, CSS). I would buy a PS3 if I had the money to get one(Personally I don't like the 360 because of Microsoft, they've already sapped me from Vista). I've spent $2000 building a new computer that will play games that come out for it probably for the next 5 years if none of the parts decide to die(AMD 5200+, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8800GTX, 250GB HDD, SBA sound card)
