The PlayStation 3's firmware 2.20 update had a lot of gamers out there pretty happy (even if Portable Copy didn't make the cut). Aside from BD-Live, the update has a lot of other new features, including new remote play features with the PSP.
Here's a new video featuring Sony's Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network, demoing several of the new features included in the FW update. In the video he demos BD Live and new PS3 and PSP remote play features. All of the features he talks about in the video have already been revealed before, but a good visual aid doesn't hurt. Here's the video: |

» Demo
I like the fact that Sony is actually showing a demo of this firmware upgrade. I do not think all upgrades need a demo, but it is nice to see it work before I try it!

» So much for playlist copy
Geez, I thought we would be able to copy our playlists to the PSP via Remote Play. Now this turns out to be just another crappy feature that both fans and Sony have exaggerated.
And that "PSP as a remote" feature, please. The only thing they didn't think about at all is this: We're NOT AT HOME if we use RP. The only thing we get with this feature is being able to shut off the TV and instead having the PSP displaying what's being played etc. Now how many do not sit in the room where both the PS3, the TV and the speaker system are while listening to music?

"We're NOT AT HOME if we use RP"
Speak for yourself. RP is useful for many different things.
"Now how many do not sit in the room where both the PS3, the TV and the speaker system are while listening to music?"
My PS3 is attached to the same system that is my whole house audio system. While I already have a remote unit to change music on one system, I'll now be able to use a PSP to change music from my Remote Storage Server, of which my PS3 is connected, from anywhere in the house.
Awesome features indeed....
