Special Operations 1

Quote for the day: Never undermine The Underminer.

You see, homebrew dev The Underminer just released his Splinter Cell masterpiece, Special Operations. Reminiscent of Tom Clancy's spy game, this game has been in development for seven months and the dev sure deserves a pat on the back for a job well done.

Anyway, to install, just copy the contents to the PSP/GAME folder of your memory stick. Here are the controls:

In game:
  • D-pad left/right: movement
  • D-pad up/down: Stand up,climb / crouch
  • Cross: Jump
  • Circle: Punch / shoot (when weapon drawn)
  • Square: Use item (ladder/lever)
  • R: Draw- or Stow away weapon
  • Start: Menu
Level Editor:
  • D-pad: Cursor-movement
  • Screenie 2Cross: Place block / enemy
  • Circle: Delete block / enemy / cancel
  • Square: Add column to level
  • Triangle: Add row to level
  • R: Cycle Editor / block select / enemy select
  • L+Square:Delete column
  • L+Triangle: Delete Row
  • Start: Menu
Title screen:
  • D-pad Up / Down: Select option
  • Select: Restart luaplayer (see known bugs)
Anyway, The Underminer has a few notes in his readme, so better check it out before you start the game. Enjoy!

 » This Looks Like ...

This Looks Like it could be a copied idea from a similar game that I have seen for the GBA called Splinter Cell Pandora Tommorow, or the previous Splinter Cell side scrolling game also for the GBA. Does anyone but me see any similiarities to this homebrew game as well ?

Anyways good attempt on the homebrew Dev's part for creating a Splinter Cell type game for the PSP, but I think I will stick to using gPSP and playing Splinter Cell throught that on my PSP.
