Vagrant Story was a title that pushed the PS one to its limits. The technical hurdles in porting it to the PSP would be extremely high. Of course, I think it's the next natural candidate for such an update, and there's no denying its extreme popularity overseas. Right now, the prospects of a North American version are the playoff prospects of a 9-6 team, down 2 with 2:02 left to play, facing 4th and 7 on the opponent's 43-yard line. Yeah, my copy through the PSX emulator works fine. I ported it myself in like 3 minutes. Changing this bad boy over to PSP and having it run smooth would be a cake walk. Don't feed us poo. PSP > PSX, we all know that.

That's called emulation. While they could easily emulate it, I guess converting the whole thing into native psp code would require some work and optimization. At least, that's the only way you can explain how the FFT port runs so crap.

There's no good reason why FFT runs better emulated than ported. It defies all logic.
Maybe they're saying that porting Vagrant Story would be a "technical hurdle", because they'll need an excuse for the crappy way it will inevitably turn out, if they hire TOSE to do the job.

would be a sequel or spinoff of vagrant story to make it more tied to the ivalice of ffxii at some historical point, with an overhaul on graphics and gameplay.

What are they thinking?
They should be rereleasing these ports as downloadable games from the ps3 store so we don't have godam lag!! UMD is a failure!

I just started playing and I think it plays just as well as the PSX version. Basch would be a nice add-on to Vagrant Story and I wouldn't doubt that they wouldn't because he's already in FFT : The War of The Lion.

I never got around to actually playing the game, but if they do decide to port it for the psp, it'll be on my top priority to buy it.
