 Thirteen Final Fantasies. And then there's the spin-offs, Tactics, and now FFXIII actually has three titles. Squeenix's kinda slack on the whole "Final" thing.But seriously, will there ever be a "Final" Final Fantasy? Or will the series continue on to have games with 3-digit numbers? (Not that that won't be welcome.) According to Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto, the answer is a "no." There won't be a "Final" Final Fantasy for as long as the fans want 'em. They don't necessarily have to stick to just one game per Final Fantasy generation either, for that matter. Hashimoto explains: Well, when it comes down to it, it's up to the fans' needs, and we don't feel that there's actually a certain number that we should stop at. But each Final Fantasy series has a lot of unique characters, and a world, and we receive lots of feedback from fans, saying, 'We want to see more of this character!' or, 'We want to see more of this situation!' So, we take those into account, and try to create new side stories based on that. So we're not necessarily conscious of a certain limit that we have to stop at. [...] The term 'Final' in the title doesn't mean 'last,' but the teams behind it see it as a term for 'ultimate,' and as long as there are creators that are wanting to make Final Fantasy games, we will probably keep going. Final Fantasy has been traditionally been made so that on top of moving story, we are also always going for the latest expression in graphics as well. So I don't know if the DS is the ideal place to express the graphical element -- but you never know what's going to happen in the future!

This is one series that will never die as long as all the fanboys keep eating up the crap and stay attached to the series. As a big fan of the series, the series is already dead as far as I'm concerned. When the last three main releases and then some suck(10, 11, 12, My Life As King, and Revenant Wings) you really don't have any hope for the series. That's not to say that all of them will suck, as Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus were decent games, but all we see about FF now days is amazing graphics and pretty low quality gameplay.
As for Final Fantasy. It originally was going to be final but it became the savior of Squaresoft and eventually it's come to where we see all these sequels and a remake of some of the earlier ones for every system imaginable.

People don't eat "crap".... on purpose. Obviously people continue to enjoy FF.
I liked 10 more then most and 12 was fine. I also enjoyed Revenant Wings (DS version) a lot.
Companies only produce games that make them money. The fact that FF continues to make them money is proof in itself of how wrong you are.

First off, Crisis Core is decent, as in, it's playable. The gameplay may suck, but atleast the storyline is pretty good.
Then there's Dirge of Cerberus which the gameplay is pretty unique and fun to play in comparison to other FPS games. It was built as a FPS and it did the job pretty well. Even though it wasn't that great of a game, it was playable enough to want to beat the game atleast once.
On the other hand, games like FF10, 11, and 12 are terrible to where you literally have to force yourself to beat them, just to say that you have.
On a final note. I really get tired of all the FF7 ranting of the best RPG ever, when it's really not. This has made it so I'm not that fond of the game. Not a big fan of Sephiroth either, so I won't enjoy any of the posters in which I don't have.

» Keep it simple
They should keep the saga simple adding to much tech in the story is not a good way to go , i still like having the sword as the main weapon and the feeling of chivalry. I hope this new one has a better story then the last . Give a deep story feel with sorrow , pain , joy , drama, surprises !
