FINALLY... I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY SINCE THEY ANNOUNCED IT. I'M FUKKING FOAMING AT THE MOUTH WITH EXCITEMENT
Too bad it won't work on my 1.5. That with the two new Mega Man games and a few more coming out are making me consider updating, though.
Nah. I don't think so.
When it comes down to it. Homebrew VS Real Games, In the end, Sonys gonna win. It will be a while before custom firmware is released if at all, and version changers dont work with newer games.
Im gonna update for SD A3, im bored of homebrew and since there isnt many games to grab my attention in the past, my PSP has only been a Portable Video Player.
Well, sadly, I get more enjoyment playing NES Tetris or one of several SNES games than playing most of the commercial games. I have 7 games so far and I rarely play any of them anymore (Wipeout, Lumines, GitS:SAP, Mega Man X, MS AC!D, Namco Battle, and SSX). They're great, but I'm already sick of them and there aren't enough coming in the future to really make me that compelled to upgrade.
If I want to play Mega Man X, I can always play the old one (I really want to play the remake though), and if I want to play Alpha 3, I'll play the arcade in my garage or (if it must be portable), I can play Alpha 2 on SNES...the GBA version of 3 blew hard, so I won't carry that one in my DS...
I'm more willing to hope the coders can crack this BS and make it all available to everyone. But for now, I'd rather keep my emus and homebrew than risk losing that for a couple "new" games (all the ones I want right now are remakes of classics anyway).
Sadly, I really think Sony is screwing up. While a lot of homebrew is boring and gets old fast, the commercial stuff really isn't much better. IMO, anyway.
my friend just got back from japan 2 weeks ago with the j version of this... oh.. and it comes with a Dpad adapter, without which he says the game is virtually unplayable... because throwing out specials just wont work with the PSPs dpad...
wonder if the western versions will be blessed with such adapters? anyone know? or are we screwed?
As much as I love Street Fighter, I must say that I probably won't be getting this one. I've tried playing a lot of different fighting games on the PSP through emulators and such and the controls just never feel right. It's a real shame that the dpad on the PSP was so poorly engineered for action games.
As for the whole upgrading bit, I'm kind of hung up between wanting to upgrade to play the Pursuit Force demo disc I got in the mail, or just staying with my 2.00 firmware in case I get the bug to play an emulator or if I want to downgrade again sometime in the future. I know that there are now ways to play emulators and homebrew on newer firmwares, but I am not a fan of GTA and I don't want to buy it some game I will totally hate just to play Super Mario while I'm in the bathroom.
SUPPORT D PAD SUPPORT D PAD WHERE IS SUPPORT D PAD SOMEONE LINK ME DOES LIK SANG HAVE SUPPORT D PAD????
GodMedia,
You can play the demo disc without upgrading past 2.0 by running a program called pspset.
I have the JP version with the D-pad adapter, and while it is easier to make special moves with it, the game is so well designed that even without the D-pad converter you can really enjoy it. Definitely this is one of the best PSP games.
And about upgrading or homebrew... Well, my choice is clear, I rather prefer the new games than boring homebrew software...
It works on 2.0 with pspset, but you lose BGM music unfortunately with this method.
nah i haave the game and its great! it works amazingly with the psp dpad u can also use the analog stick but thats just dodgy and it dont work well with the combos and super speacials... the question is WOULD YOU! updates to 2.6 to play it i would! they have the downgrader out now! from 2.6 to 1.5 i always carry the 2.6 update in my memorycard while also keepin the downdater....street fighter is GREAT! THE GAME PLAYS AMAZING! the tunes rule! the charcters are even mor numeruos! and! theres more modes! u can fight agaisnt 2 POPEL ON THE SAME SCREEN! LOL ITS GREAAAT!

Almost 20 years after the original Street Fighter landed on arcade machines, Capcom’s most recognized franchise has finally made its way to the PSP. Along with your usual favorites fighters,
