Now here's a fanfic made into a game, which goes: "Once upon a time, Sony decided to take over Nintendo, and has already captured every Nintendo character, except a few ShyGuys and Goombas." Sounds interesting? If it piqued your interest, then you may want to check out homebrew developer jfig111's Super ShyGuy Universe where players get into the shoes of Shylo, one of the last remaining Shyguys who weren't captured by Sony. Tasked to rescue Nintendo luminaries - Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, and others - Shylo must explore the world and fight baddies to restore Nintendo-land. Super ShyGuy universe can actually be played on the PC, but you can tote around the adventure on your PlayStation Portable as well. Here are the instructions on how to install Super ShyGuy universe using the PSP and PC, as provided by jfig111: To download on PSP: 1. Hover over link 2. Press triangle>file>save target as 3. Save it in PSP/COMMON 4. Type in file:/psp/common/figt45.swf in the PSP Web browser to access To download on PC: 1. Save the page, or SWF depending the web browser. 2. Plug your PSP into USB Mode 3. Open up the contents of your PSP, go into the PSP Folder, then the COMMON folder. 4. Drag and drop the file in there. 5. Repeat step 4 from the way to download it on PSP. If you have any questions or comments concerning Super ShyGuy Universe, you can go to the Visit link to contact the homebrew developer. Enjoy! » Made by a Nintendo fanboy, for Nintendo fanboys.
There's no doubt that Nintendo made good games..... back in the 80's and 90's, but Nintendo has been the laughing stock in all hardcore gamers eyes. The company pushes out nothing but the same games with small adjustments, call it a new game, and put it in stores for full price for about 4-5 years running.
If any of you are excited about playing this game at all, you're a Nintendo fanboy. Hell. Not that I'm defending Sony, because I own plenty of Nintendo systems myself, but please stfu already. We know the Wii is the better system just because it has more sales. Move along now and play Mario Kart 97, *****tier than the rest.

So you're not that smart then?
*Everyone* is guilty of doing what you said. I'm playing GT4, feels like all the rest. Street Fighters, Mortal Kombats, Metal Gear, Mario, Sonic, Katamari, Halo, Ninja Gaiden. All these games haven't changed their formula too much since their birth but they're *****ing selling by the bucket load.
It's clear you're just anti-Nintendo, just please don't try to hide it next time, k?
Besides I'm a hardcore gamer. I stuck my fingers up to the 360 and PS3 since they're trying to emulate a PC experience but with sub-par resolutions and graphics. And as a hardcore gamer I expect precision control in these "big" games so I'm limited to using a mouse. My other system is a Wii since its the only one with Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Galaxy (games I'd class as hardcore, if you've even tried playing online) and is a great system to play with family and friends.
When these "super consoles" stop outputting 576-630p games and try to match my 2 year old middle-range PC then we'll talk about "hardcore".

Re: GTA
The originals were 2D games played from overhead. Perhaps you'd like to retract your statement about "not changing too much"?
Nintendo has several series that are in their 8th or 9th incarnations with few changes. Just look at Pokemon, for God's sake... for probably a good decade or so, each new game was exactly the same as the others, but with new pokemon. Same plot, same characters, etc.
He's absolutely right.
Oh, and as for '576p', you're an idiot. You'll be hard-pressed to find a PS3 or 360 game that isn't at least 720p, which is the HD *STANDARD* for digital TV.
I love how you switched from comparing your Wii to the consoles to comparing the consoles to a PC when you realized "oh, wait, the Wii isn't even the LEAST BIT HD".

although it is true that nintendo does rehash its games, you argue it using bad reasons. for example, you decide to use an ad hominem argument by calling him stupid. what ever happened to civilized discussion? also, you present a red herring argument by relying semantics. you focus a large amount of argument basing on the fact that HD is not 576p rather than his core arguments which is simply that companies other than nintendo do this tactic as well.
i wouldn't call nintendo a joke for hardcore games. i have also never seen this proverbial "hardcore" gamer ever as well. is this gamer considered hardcore because he/she only plays certain genres? if it is simply that then that gamer is only close minded rather than "hardcore".

"It's clear you're just anti-Nintendo, just please don't try to hide it next time, k?"
What kindof dumbass are you? Of course I'm anti-Nintendo. I wasn't trying to hide it. It wasn't until this generation that I've actually became anti-Nintendo, though I still like the DS(atleast for third party titles.)
--Long rant about Nintendo's bull***** tactics, *****ty games, and why I became anti-Nintendo.--
So two people seem to want to know why I say Nintendo is a joke when it comes to hardcore gamers.
I'll just take their most recently released game. Sure it takes a bit of skill, like all racing games obviously, but what about the flaws that make the game too random? Mario Kart Wii pretty much punishes you for being good at racing while rewarding you for sucking ass. How? The random ? blocks. If you're doing good, staying in 1st place, you'll never get anything but a green turtle shell or a banana, while in any other place, you'll get stars, red turtle shells, triple shells, big mushrooms, gold mushrooms, etc, etc, etc. While skill is involved, there's too much luck involved to even consider the game any fun.
Play Chocobo Racing for example. The game actually requires skill during the race. Pretty much no luck involved. When coming across items to get, you see the items that are there, so it's not like you'll hope that you happen to get a good one since it's whether you're good enough to get what you want while still doing good on the race. You don't get punished for being in first place.
How about Smash Bros. Brawl. Now don't get me wrong. The game is good. But so are the other two. Brawl is exactly like the last title, just without the wavedashing. There are extra characters, but every character is pretty much the same concept. Far more skillful than the Mario Kart games, that's for sure, but with the items, the game does have quite a bit of luck involved. You can play without items, but what if you have friends that don't like playing with anything but items on high? You're honestly not the only one that's going to be playing, since truthfully, Smash Bros. sucks alone.
Or how about the DS game Super Princess Peach. That's an extremely hardcore game. Did Nintendo even make this *****ty game or did some moron fan? The game could have been released on the GBA, but they released it on the DS as a collectathon. Make princess run around every stage, getting the music and saving the toads. Once you beat the game, save the rest of them. I didn't die once throughout the entire game. At the last stage I fell down a pit, but you don't die, you just lose a small bit of health.
Mario Galaxy, Mario Sunshine, and Mario 64. Different stages, with the exact same gameplay experience. Do stupid mini bull***** by collecting stars throughout the game. While Mario Sunshine and 64 was a time I still did like Nintendo, I hated these two games. The still had other good games.
But. Want to know what really pushed me over the edge on being anti-Nintendo. It was only partially that the games were *****. It was that if you wanted a Nintendo game, you had to pay prices up the ass in order to get them. Most first party Nintendo games would always stay 49.99 until the games were discontinued. If you happen to think you won't like a game, it doesn't matter, either buy it, or hope that it goes down to 19.99 in four years without disappearing. This was for every Nintendo game. So you buy a Nintendo game on the Gamecube, and most likely, it was a *****ty game that you expecting to be so great. Same with the DS(Metroid Prime Hunters, Nintendogs, Super Princess Peach, etc. *****.)
Another reason are some more of Nintendo's cheap marketing ploys. Zelda Twilight Princess slated to be released on the Gamecube in November of 2005. Pushed back to December. Pushed back to January. Then Nintendo gave a speech how they weren't delaying it to put it on the Wii, but then they delayed it about 5 more months to make sure they got all the bugs. But then they relea

They released Twilight Princess on the Wii in November 2006. The Gamecube version was released in December. What kindof ***** is that?
Not only that, but they also canceled Super Paper Mario and put that as Wii only. So originally developed for the Gamecube yet ported on the Wii. Just to force people to go out and buy the *****ty system. Just add a bull***** peripheral like the powerglove. Why ***** everyone over and charge them 250 dollars to use a *****ing gimmick ass controller.
Okay. End rant. What I posted got cut off so this is a bit more out there.

You complain about the prices of nintendo games, when games for other consoles reach upwards of $70.
Your whole rant is a giant block of whiny hypocrisy.

Nintendo has made many game release decisions that screwed gamers over the years. Anyone remember Starfox 2? It was nearly complete, yet dumbass Miamoto decided to release it with the N64 for some reason. The N64 was delayed, and Starfox 2 was never released! Then Nintendo made Starfox for the N64 (which was worse in some ways,) forcing fans to buy the NEW N64 to play NEW Starfox.
To addy771:
I've never bought any game costing more than $60, unless you count N64 games which were very expensive.

Did you even understand what I said? Other games are 60 dollars now, also, unless you buy a collector's edition, but that really doesn't count.
When I was talking about Nintendos overpriced first party titles, I threw out there the fact that the games stay for about 50 dollars for 4+ years running. The prices never drop, and then the games are discontinued sometime later.
I'll give you an example of another system. Like a few first party titles on the PS2. Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Twisted Metal Black, etc etc etc? After the games were out a year, they dropped to 19.99. SotC did stay at 49.99 when it first came out on Greatest Hits, but the game dropped to 19.99 within the following month.
So yeah. Every game Nintendo publishes will end up being full price for god knows how long. If it's a game that got high reviews and looks okay, but you're not totally sure, you'd just wait for it to drop price, but with a Nintendo title, you couldn't do that. You were forced to buy it for 50 dollars and if you didn't and it discontinued, yet happened to be a great game that you would have liked, you're *****ed for buying it used(usually) on Ebay or somewhere for the same price as it was new from Nintendo.

If the long term price bothers you so much, why not go for used games? I bought a bunch of used games for my gamecube at around $10-20 a year or so after the gamecube was released.
My point was that some PS3 and xbox 360 games are way more expensive.

You don't get it. If a game is selling new for 49.99, you won't find it used for $10-20. Anywhere. It doesn't matter if you look on Ebay, Amazon, anywhere. The fact that most of the decent games that come out on the Nintendo systems are published by Nintendo, they won't drop price.
All the games that are pushed onto the DS have been pretty bad as well, so you should atleast expect the first party to make some good games. When they're *****ing you over with the prices though, it's kindof wrong.
With the Wii you're basically spending 250 for a cheaply made system, but then you're getting raped in the ass with Nintendo's always full prices. Where as you can actually get decent deals on games for the other systems, first party or not, and the other systems actually have good games.

Now here's a fanfic made into a game, which goes: "Once upon a time, Sony decided to take over Nintendo, and has already captured every Nintendo character, except a few ShyGuys and Goombas." Sounds interesting?
