Well, the review scores for the upcoming PSP title, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror are already starting to pour in. What are people saying? Well, lets just say it is doing very well in the review circle. Check out the scores it has been receiving:
Gabe Logan is a highly-trained Precision Strike Operative, commanding a black box U.S. Agency that, legally, doesn't exist. Using Precision Strike Tactics, advanced vision technology, and the latest in high-tech weaponry, Logan's specialty is covert operations requiring deadly force. Logan and his team perform "surgical strikes": missions too sensitive for a military response, too dangerous for civilian intelligence forces. Logan's job is to infiltrate, recon and execute decisively. Once inserted, Logan is his own authority. |

There has been a bit of calamity for the majority of titles being released for the PSP. Many gamers feel that while there are a few unique and rather addicting games most of the games are from previous versions ported for the PSP. While I can't say all of the titles this week will rejuvenate your love for PSP games there are a few noteworthy titles that will definitely be popular if not top sellers. This week a few new titles will hit the shelves in stores near you and we have a quick roundup of whats new and hot. Check it out!Mega Man Poweredup Daxter Neopets: Petpet Adventures - The Wand of Wishing Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror Untold Legends The Warriors Code We are placing Daxter and Syphon Filter among the top titles being released this week. There has been a lot of talk about these two games and a number of good previews have already been filtering in. Mega Man games have had a hefty following since the early 90's, some poor choices in gameplay design (3D) has led a number of the hardcore fans away but Capcom has hopped back on the 2D level design with 3D sprite elements which has many feeling the wrath of Mavericks once again. The Untold Legend series has also become quite popular as of late. We will see who tops the charts and who gets left in dust as these auspicious games come to the light of store shelves this week. |

Oh man, it looks like March is going to be a very bad month for PSP owner's wallets! First Daxter scores a 9.0, and now IGN gives Sony Bend developed Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror a score of 9.3! Start dancing in the streets folks, the PSP has just found its killer app, at least according to IGN:"It's a rare thing when a game actually defines a system. Not an easy thing to do in any case, but once in a great while a title comes out that sums up the perks and potential of a particular game system. Halo defined the Xbox, for instance, while Final Fantasy X did the same for PS2. Now, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror has done the same exact thing with the Sony PSP. As for the game itself, Sony Bend has crafted the game to beat on the PSP. For starters, it controls remarkably well for such a complex game. Even with the impressive number of combat techniques and maneuvers at your disposal, it's incredibly simple to come to grips with everything. Instead of spending time struggling with different control schemes in hopes of finding the "right" one, most will acclimate to the default setting in less than ten minutes - it's that intuitive. Dark Mirror has one of, if not the most robust multiplayer package of any PSP title. It makes use of the system's Ad-Hoc (local), infrastructure (online) and game sharing capabilities. With both Ad-Hoc and infrastructure, you can jump into eight-player Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Objective and Rogue Agent modes." So there you have it boys and girls, if you haven't already pre-ordered a copy do it now and support developers who are actually putting time and effort into creating fully featured, robust PSP games. |

Gabe Logan, the renowned Precision Strike Operative from Syphon Filter is back and working for a black ops US agency that doesn't officially exist – even to the President! After being listed as M.I.A after his previous mission, Gabe returns for another deadly surgical strike, but this time on the PSP (PlayStation Portable).
Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, due for release in the summer 2006, has no rules and no chain of command. Logan's job is to infiltrate, recon and execute decisively - on his mission to retrieve Dark Mirror...a weapon which threatens the lives of all those on the planet... Syphon Filter Dark Mirror is tailor made for PSP, which allowed the developers to create exclusive and exciting gameplay linked to each of Logan's main objectives. To 'Infiltrate' locations around the globe, Gabe has acquired a new rifle that uses the latest darts technology, and now has access to a range of vision enhancement goggles. There is enhanced AI with new behaviours and awareness states, such as idle, curious and alarmed! Once in Logan has to carry out life or death decisions thanks to precision aiming and new lethal melee attacks with hands and knife. Syphon Filter Dark Mirror also features a host of other new additions to make gameplay more enjoyable and realistic; the graphics engine has been completely overhauled to take advantage of the PSP's full visual capacity; a dynamic difficulty structure has been implemented to prevent frustration creeping in; plus there is a bonus mission for fans of the franchise which clarifies the ending of the previous episode - Omega Strain. The game includes 23 single player missions and five multi-purpose online maps. You have the ability to create your own agent, and the highest ranking players can play as Gabe or as the enemy Commander and have access to unique weapons. Syphon Filter Dark Mirror allows you to experience the rush of being on the front-line in the war against global terrorism. Keep your senses alert because one minute you are engaging in undercover recon and the next you're blasting your way through a guarded gate or crashing through a skylight on a mission to save the world. |

Gabe Logan returns in this exclusive PlayStation Portable mission. Gamers assume the identity of Gabe Logan, a highly-trained Precision Strike Operative, commanding a black box United States Agency that legally doesn't exist. As Gabe, players will have to strategize quickly, as he is responsible to infiltrate, recon and execute decisively. Once inserted, Logan is his own authority -- making life and death decisions, quickly choosing his course of action. An immersive single-player experience also delivering an evolving online multiplayer experience, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror features melee attacks, target lock, precision aiming, target and vision enhancements, enhanced artificial intelligence (AI), and high-tech weaponry. Gamers can choose between difficulty modes that monitor and adjust skill level, multiple unique online maps using both Ad Hoc and Infrastructure connectivity, and four types of gameplay modes in multiplayer. |
