PSPXTI - Image 1

Being ever so faithful to the homebrew community, ZX-81 has released an update for his PSPXTI TI-92 Calculator Emulator. To give you a refresher, this homebrew is an emulator of the TX-81 calculator from Texas Instruments (which has already been released under GPL).

The release today sees ZX-81's project at v1.2.1 status and one of its biggest developments is that it now supports the PSP Slim. The IR Keyboard functionality, as implemented in the previous version, has likewise gotten an update. Here's the full changelog for PSPXTI TI-92 Calculator Emulator v1.2.1:
  • Now compatible with custom firmwares 3.x and PSP-slim
  • Option to prevent the blue led to be displayed when L or R are pressed
  • It has been linked with latest IR keyboard library so it should work better with Palm Keyboard
  • The power '^' character is now properly mapped on IR keyboard
  • Add a simple intro splash screen
  • Support iso8859-1 fonts in print text functions (might be useful to translate menus in german, french ...)
  • Bug fix and code cleaning
Those wishing to use this emulator are encouraged to look at the relevant txt files included in the download, most importantly the readme. You are also invited to visit the forum release thread linked below to discuss the homebrew with ZX-81 himself. And send him your thanks, while you're at it!

If there was any doubt in the minds of the people that ZX-81 was the most hard-working homebrew developer, it can be squashed now. Because you see, ZX81 has released updates to three emulators in a span of a few hours! The emulators in question are PSPZX81, Sinclair ZX 81 emulator; PSPXTI, a TI-92 calculator emulator; and PSPX48, an HP48 calculator emulator.

Here's what's new in each of them:

PSPX48PSPX48 v1.0.6 (HP48 calculator emulator):
  • Save state is now done using zlib so ram file size is smaller and as a consequence, it is much faster to save.
  • Bug fix (may display strange characters in the emulator menu)
ZX81 says that Hewlett Packard started allowing HP48 BIOSes to be downloaded off the net sometime in 2000. Although they're needed, ZX81 won't be offering them with his package since they're not GPL licensed.

PSPXTIPSPXTI v1.0.8 (TI-92 Calculator emulator):
  • Save state is now done using zlib so ram file size is smaller and as a consequence, it is much faster to save.
  • Bug fix (may display strange characters in the emulator menu)
In the case of this emulator, you need to own a real TI92 calculator if you want to download its BIOS. Two versions are included, one for FW 1.5 and one for 2.XX.

PSPZX81PSPZX81 v1.0.2 (Sinclair ZX 81 emulator):
  • Add speed limiter option
  • Add background change color option
  • Add .81 as a valid program file extension
Manuals or documentation for the ZX 81 can be downloaded from here.

As always, all three of these emulators have been released under the GPL license, so the source code is bundled. Below are the download links for all three of them.

PSPXTI-TI92School's about to start and sooner or later, you're going to need your handy TI calculator around. zx-81 kept that in mind as well, so he has released an update to his nifty TI-92 calculator emu app, the PSPXTI. So before you start having math nightmares, check out ZX-81's changelog:
  • Add new beautiful icons and background designed by Jer666 !
  • New user interface with menus and useful options
  • Add Help window with all PSP shortkeys
  • Save configuration file option
  • Screenshot image option
  • PNG images instead of BMP (smaller images)
  • Toogle between analog and digital pad option
  • New keyboard handler and new mapping
  • Bug fix (keyboard freeze etc ...)
  • Works with firmwares 1.5 and 2.x
Just like before, the dev warns that you'll need a TI-92 or TI-92 rom, as it is a Texas Instruments property. Just click on the download link below to get the PSPXTI v1.0.7. Now who says there's nothing to look forward to in math class?

TI-92 Emulatorzx-81 has just updated his TI-92 Calculator Emulator for the PSP, taking it to v1.0.6.

Here's what's new :
  • Using LTRIGGER + X key, you can now have the LCD of the TI-92 in full-screen, making it much more convenient to play TI-92 games
  • A simple but useful TI-92 application called "auto close braquets" has been added in the package.
You need the ROM from your TI-92 or TI-92+, because it is the property of Texas Instruments, and can't be bundled along with this package.

Want more great news ? This application works on 1.5, as well as 2.0 and above firmwares! And since it's released under the GPL license, the source is bundled along so that you can modify it yourself, to your liking. Be advised though, the source is only for developers who are interested.
