PSP - Image 1

Team M33 called the shot, and they made it with a picture-perfect finish. Yes, PSP homebrew development fans, it's the promised third update of their own Custom Firmware 3.52, with all the awesome bells and whistles to make your PlayStation Portable all that more tricked out (can you say popsloader?). Let's cut the chit-chat and get right to what's changed in this update!

Changes:
  • Added more speeds: 75 and 133.
  • Added flash2 and flash3 usb to recovery
  • Added a setting in recovery to change the usb device to which XMB will connect.
  • Added "vshmenu", which is a menu that will appear when HOME is pressed in the XMB. It will interfere with existing
  • XMB plugins that use HOME, so it can be disabled in recovery.
  • - Added umd video iso support. The umd video isos are playes using vshmenu. Video isos go in
  • /ISO/VIDEO folder. They require an UMD inserted because NO-UMD does not work.
Changes in popsloader:
  • Support for 3.30 firmware. Instructions are same as in previous release, except 3.30
  • firmware did not have libpspvmc.prx, so just ignore that file.
  • Warning: There is an incompatibility between 3.30 savedata and later ones. If a savedata exists from 3.40+, the emulator will freeze.
A few notes from the M33 team about vshmenu and UMD video ISOs:
  • vshmenu cannot be loaded when the browser is active. If you exit the browser, the firmware will still keep it in memory until you enter other area of xmb, until you do so, you will not be able to access vshmenu again either.
  • video isos and the game isos show in xmb use the same core. Due to this, when you enter in game menu and there is some iso, if a video iso was currently mounted, it will automatically be unmounted.
  • cso format is not supported for video isos.
  • UMD audio isos are theoretically supported, but not tested. They go to /ISO/VIDEO.
As always, read the relevant readme files included in the zip file before applying the update to your PSP. This is custom firmware business, and tinkering around with it without proper information and knowledge could lead to bricking. And if you're having fun using their custom firmware, why not send the M33 team a donation or two to their Paypal account? It would help loads for future firmware development!

Thanks to all those who sent in their tip!

As facts are better than words, this program may refuse to work on your system if you:

- Downloaded it from ps3news.
- You are an active member of that forums's page.
- You visit frequently that page.

In last case, and only last case, the problem will be fixed if you delete browser cache of both,
psp and pc, and stop visiting that site.

Other cases of BAN are described in the LICENSE.TXT.
Not respecting the license will bring the PSP to BRICK, because the program will refuse to run.

A BIG ***** YOU TO M33

   Re: ^^^^^^^^^^^ (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19
 » .

WHY ***** M33?

These *****ers from ps3lamerz stole DAX's OE SOURCE CODE
and:

http://forums.maxconsole.net/showpost.php?p+640045+postcount+276
Streak, despite i was attacked by that page, i contacted that page and we made some kind of "no agression" pact. They have been violating that pact lots of times, even now that I left the scene, they do it even more.

The have been putting recently my supossed name in his page, some times with initials, but the other day he posted it fully.
What do they think they achieve by putting my real name? I really don't mind that, they cannot even probe is me or just the paypal owner. But they do it like trying to act as a "mafia" so sony can see the names of authors. They did same when Noobz released 3.03 HEN+downgrader, they put the ip of fanjita. They don't only not have respect for homebrew authors, but they put them in danger.

As for me, neither spanish police nor Sony needs a retard administrator of a loosers page to put my name, they have their own means to find me, much more efective than visiting a paypal address, so i cannot care less about them showing that name. IF someone from my environment know who i am, i will receive congrats because i have done no evil. It would be different if the name and address of the administrator of that page were leaked. He would actually be in physical danger, because he has not stopped of annoying developers from several years. He plays with fire, too bad for him, fire burns.

As you can see, there is nothing it can be done against that guy violating homebrew coders rights, so i see fair that coders are fighting them in dirty way to protect themselves or other coders. It is useless to talk to them, they still continue doing same things they have been done for years. I regret to have talked to them that time, it was the worst loose of time i have ever done. And i regret too not to have done the same in OE.

this is gay. i was just thinking about updating to m33 finally, but not anymore. Not only are you screwing with 'bad' people, but you are *****ing with innocent people who have no idea that ps3news did anything.

you tried to get your revenge and then *****ed up your rep.

 » F*ck off, idiots.

If you're a regular PS3news visitor, you've seen what they've done against the PSP community, and if you CONTINUE to go there after seeing how flat-out EVIL they are, you DESERVE to brick.

   Re: Antoniocool (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19
» chance of bricking with every click

chance of bricking with every click

someone could just make a link disguised as lets say google and it could be linking to ps3news and there is no way to tell from the psp browser and you click and brick. do we deserve this crap? no. did we do anything to deserve this? no. will this solve this issue between m33 and ps3news? no. will this rape the innocent people that support m33 and dont know anything about ps3news? yes.

i just updated from 340oea to 352m332 yesterday and i was liking it so far but i just went back to good old non-bricking 340oea and i will never update to anything that isnt made by DAX. i cant wait for the day that team wildcard makes a 352cfw better then m33's and m33 puts a block on wildcards's site. that will be the next step.

team m33, You are a shame for PSP development!

   Re: organic (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19
 » listen up idiots

those who bricked are either they:
- downloaded it from ps3news aka ps3lamers or
- they visited the lame website n never clear their cache n cookies

this lame website has n will always steal creators' code n hexedit them to make it like their before post it up to. these lamers also take out credits n anti-credits from the readme.

to some of you yanky kids out there who dunno about this, ps3lamers stole n leaked WildC*rd's custom fw source code which was suppose to be private for our hombrew security reason.

so m33 did the necessary job to warn everyone not to visit the lamer's site n they meant serious. it's your fault to brick your baby. i'm using 3.52 M33-3 with no flaws.

Now stop talking sh*t instead help us to fight the lamers.

   Re: dialtone (Unregistered) - 2007-08-20
» another example of m33 lameness

I'm so happy theres another dev team (team wildcard) working on CFW because since day 1 that is lame team has put out their work than blasted other devs I could see how lame they were. Now they have stooped to bricking peoples handhelds, like how *****ing lame can you get. I dont condone ps3news and what they have done at all but bricking innocent people for visiting a site is just lame. I will never install/support anything from m33 and think they are the biggest lamers ive ever seen. How pathetic are they....

This is a NEW and IMPROVED online way of making EASY/FREE MONEY this one has alot more features with alot more ways of making money online.. you gotta try it and see.
SWATcash - Where the checks they fire are never blank!
Great, fun site with a friendly community and nice helpful admins over there. This is a GPT site that pays via paypal or check with a minimum of $15 in earnings to request payout. 20% referral commision. Extra goodies like missions and an armory and weapon shop and alliances.

Missions: When completed all missions you get extra goodies!
Armory: Buy armor and weapons to increase your atk and defense skills so people can't steal your SWATcash (not real money- that's safe with you) and you can steal others once a day for extra swatcash.

Alliances: Out of 3 alliances, you may pick one. The highest amount in avg. earnings for each alliance, as well as infiltration points (you can attack other alliances), and referrals you get extra goodies.

You can get 2 free referrals with 25 swatcash by buying the Walkie Talkies in the armory.
That got me an extra $50 in my earnings. Also the weekly contests will get you atleast $1000 plus more if you are a lucky one

If you download this from the website warned about in the license.txt and the readme, it will brick your Psp. Some users have reported a corrupted Psp after visiting the site in question too but that can be recovered by deleting your Browser Cache. If the eboot installer is hex edited in anyway, it will brick. I tested this on a chipped Psp and can confirm.

What the heck is happening with all these freakin' PSP dev nut balls? I can't use this update if I ever looked at ps... well some other playstaion news site?

What the ?? I didn't leak anything or do anything against m33! why are we punished simply because we read forums from a particular site?

Thieves stealing from thieves and calling it thier own work... who gives a cr@p? Just release your work and let it speak for itself! Enough of all this... DA figured it all out in the first place, or maybe he didn't... who cares?

   Re: Snarg (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19
 » .

I completely understand why they did this, but like you, I definitely don't agree with it.

I don't know what they should do about hosting it, I mean most people don't read the readme, and I can see why they wouldn't want to put the info in the article, because that would be free advertising for a slimy site.
But there's not much point in not hosting it, because people will just get it in one of 100 other places.

Re: good for them (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19

The site might deserve it, but I'm not the site am I? The M33 team isn't bricking the PSP's of the admins of the site only... they are bricking anyone who's got the site in thier cache.

   Re: FreePlay (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19

How about you stop being a reactionary dumba$$ and ask yourself:

How would your PSP know what web sites you've been to on your PC?

   Re: bountyhunter (Unregistered) - 2007-08-19
» Team M33 felt like they were back stabbed by the scene

i myself have been victimised as people steal your hard made code and use it for their own gain. You FOOLS should understand what they are telling you PS3News is a no-no and M33 feel deeply annoyed and they made a anti-steal device but m33 you should have game them ways for them to get past this but should made the code encrypted to 256-aes format which only crack on a base of reason that would have helped. But bricking their prized possetions is a step tooooooo far.

M33 i got to hand it to you, you have your ways but thats barbaric i will have to think up my trust for you as my view has changed.
