Tecmo logo - Image 1Tecmo is certainly working double time to do some much needed damage control. First, Tomonobu Itagaki resigned and slapped them with a lawsuit for goodbye. Then came the reports of a mass exodus of its employees, supposedly copycatting Itagaki's maneuver of filing cases against them.

Now, Tecmo is clearing the air, saying that the bit on the mass exodus of over 300 employees is false and inaccurate. In an official statement they released, Tecmo says that "No such action is taking place at the company." While they did admit to the two other employees who filed a lawsuit against them regarding the issue of withheld overtime, they said that the reports on the mass exodus, as well as those claiming that they withheld information from shareholders regarding the lawsuit filed by Itagaki are not true.

The need to clear the air became more apparent as the issue has caused "unrest" among their remaining staff. They are now therefore calling out to members of the U. S. media to "handle news reports concerning the above matters with care."

Here's an excerpt of Tecmo's released statement:

It is unfortunate that false and inaccurate reporting of our organization and employees’ actions have caused some unrest among our development staff members. Tecmo, LTD. would like to assure its partners and loyal fans that its teams continue to focus and work on several projects to be released and announced in the future. The company is committed to providing high quality, entertaining products for our fans around the world.

Your continued support of Tecmo, LTD. is appreciated and it is kindly asked that you handle news reports concerning the above matters with care.
