The Office cast to be ported to handhelds and PC - Image 1 The Office cast to be ported to handhelds and PC - Image 2

Love the quirky and sometimes crazy television series The Office? Well, the NBC comedy series is coming to the PlayStation Portable, the Nintendo DS, and the PC. The port was announced by casual game developer, MumboJumbo who has just signed with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group.

The tag team combination will get the crew of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch as bobblehead dolls. Players will get the chance to pull pranks and complete tasks in this upcoming video game. Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group's Bill Kispert, vice president and general manager (Interactive) expressed enthusiasm over the project:

The cast and creators of 'The Office' have done a fantastic job delivering a show with a personality all its own. MumboJumbo is an innovator in the casual games space, and developing a game with them that combines the quirky characters and humor of the show with a proven, addictive game mechanic we think will be welcomed by fans and casual game players alike.

Reportedly, The Office video game will be available for download online for PSP, DS, and PC around fall of this year.

the US offfice is better than the British one coz it's longer. That's some great criteria you judge comedies by mate. *****.

 » US-only

I think it's safe to say this will be a US-only release, since The Office is still going over here whereas the original series has been gone for a couple years now.

They need to work on their face models.... the uptight chick and the one next to her (I assume it's supposed to be the boss's girlfriend) are almost the same but for the hair....

» OFFICE US > OFFICE UK

Office US > Office UK. Office US wins because it has put out more seasons. And the whole british accent gets very annoying after a while. Sorry MATE!

   Re: Simple - 2007-06-24
 » No. Just no.

That's the worst logic I've ever heard. The UK Office didn't make more seasons because Gervais and Merchant wanted to move onto another project, that being Extras. The US version sucks because it contains none of the traits of the original. They're just trying to pump more money out of something that should've died a long time ago, like Pirates of the Caribbean.

   Re: You're mental (Unregistered) - 2007-06-25
» By that equation Arli$$>NBC Office

Exactly what simple stated and for the fact that the British don't wear out their shows until the original premise is lost three or four seasons in. Less is more considering that most comedies overstay there welcome even after staff and casting changes wrecking the shows overall integrity(jumping the shark). Take Seinfeld for instance, that went on for a few more seasons after Larry David (it's real main writer and creator) left and the result was mediocrity at best. It the least quoted and referenced portion of the series and it's conclusion is the least fondly remembered finale for a comedy series.
It's better to leave on a high note or a laugh (a Costanza) then to bury your way into obscurity like a majority of American TV shows did by leaving way past their prime.

P.S: I'm a New Yorker and a admitted Anglophile, being so I heartily apologize for some my fellow compatriots. Apparently, who's ancestors veered far off the coast, landing them to believe that a blunt punchline is a home video of testicular trauma and in turn neglecting subtle irony and nuances of the Brit's humor.
It's like my friend (and friend of Mr. Gervais) Ronnie B said a few weeks back, "Oh, what I would give for just one goddamn funny redneck caller."
