We've been yapping about how fun After Burner: Black Falcon will be, especially with the featured in-depth customization of 19 officially military planes. So how about we finally take a closer look at these planes, eh? And that's exactly what we're bringing you today. But not only will we be shedding some light on some specific flying wonders, we're also throwing in a look at the environments that you'll be cruising through.

So, let's get started.

Ryan Kauffman, Planet Moon producer, gamely provided details on After Burner's aircrafts. According to him, they wanted to use real-world, licensed aircraft. Not only that, they also had to take into consideration the fact that the franchise is strongly associated with the F-14 Tomcat. This is where they had to balance things out, especially with the introduction of a whole new stale of fighters and bombers.

Calling it the holy trinity of the game, he identifies the F-14X Tomcat, the F-15E Strike Eagle, and the F/A-18E Super Hornet. These beauties are assigned to different playable pilot characters, but not without having their compatibilities taken into consideration. Pretty much, you can say that these three are the cream of the crop.

But they wanted to throw in some more flavas, hence the expansion of the club. Bringing in the SR-71 Blackbird (otherwise known as the fastest jet in the world), along with the F-4 Phantom II from the Vietnam-era, the F-22 Raptor, and the F-35 Lightning II, the star-studded aircraft stable is now riding high.

But that ain't all, my friends. They also brought in some "underdeveloped prototypes" such as the X-36 and X-29, as well as created their own mythical "assassin jets". Now, these newbies, so to speak, are equipped with handling characteristics and are found to be among the speediest models.

Now, let's go have a survey of the environments.

Micronesia
Home to pirate fleets, enemy bombers, and fiery volcanoes. A tropical paradise, this place appears to be. But it ain't as tranquil as it appears. You'll definitely sweat it out here.

Southwest
"As old as the world itself" is how Kauffman describes this. But don't mistake it for Mars, given its red color. It's just more trippy that way, we guess. And you're surely in for some trippy ride indeed, what with all the rock arches that are there for you to zoom over and under, as well as the monumental...er...Monumental valley.

Thailasia
Lotsa rock formations here, and you can bet they are definitely a huge obstacle. This is said to be Black Falcon's official resort base. Or so they claim.

Amazonia
"Conceals a bloody history of human sacrifice, imperial plunder, and a ton of flak turrets." Hmmm...this place has got some character, indeed. Surviving the fight and the flak turrets are but some of your concerns here. Getting "offered" to some doggone entity is what's next on your list.

Mountainistan
Them mountains, they hide more than just centuries-old secrets. They hide your enemies, too. And that's what you should be wary about. They can offer you protection, inasmuch as they can give the same to your foes. Oh, and a warning should be heeded. Don't just go on an all-out missile launch frenzy lest you unwittingly fire this ancient castle. What's wrong with the castle? Other than it's old, it's just packed to the roof with dynamites.

Arctica
It's cold in here. For real. Frozen solid, that's what this place is. Listen up for the "Iceberg ahead!" warning. You just might see Jack and Rose still floating atop a broken wooden door.

I can't believe they're wasting their time on this and not a port of AB Climax.
