There is no fault in my opinion on either the makers of gta or the distributors. These ppl are complete morons. Somebody doesnt just play a violent game once then go kill ppl. It has to be fed on by many things; ex. ppl around him, friends, parents, and maybe partially the media. You cannot blame one game on what the guy did. He had to already have been messed up in order to do this. Because seriously something like gta could affect ppl but in order to do that u gotta kinda be f'd up already. Yeah I could go play gta and b like yeah killing cops is fun, but that just stays in the game. If youre in the right state of mind you will not take the game into the real world.

Yea it is not the video games fault there are stupid ppl in the world. It's their parents that should be blamed. Good thing I live in Canada. America is dangerous, snipers shooting randomly, tanks going through the streets, and their own army causing most of the friendly kill in the war over at the middle-east: accidental planes bomb drops on canadian forces, crashing a transport-heli killing all the uk soldiers in it, and recently randomly killing a child and their own soldier dies. Like I said I'm glad I live in Canada even though nothing happens here, meaning absolutley NOTHING, booooring!

Grand Theft Auto is worse for youth than seeing US Marines shooting (or being shot at by) random people IN REAL LIFE...

I'd rather live in AMERICA than Europe any day. Why is it that Europeans always need to bash America out of no where? There are greedy people everywhere, no matter where you go in the world.

Although I do not agree with Jack Thompson and his extremist measures against the gaming industry... I do feel for the families whose love ones were murdered in the name of Grand Theft Auto. Its people who kill in the name of something like Grand Theft Auto that give the entire industry a bad name which it turn ruins it for everyone.

Why not sue the parents of this 18 year old who caused this crime? Isn't it their responsibility to raise a decent member of society? Or does everything that goes wrong these days have to be blamed on the media *loves South Park movie*. So I blame the media blamers haha.

Let Jack Thomspon try to make a name for himself like all lawyers who take on these types of cases.

Guarnteed, the parents are trash, I agree. Don't bother sueing them though, just sterilize them... (along with many, many, many more who need this procedure)

No-one has killed in the name of "grand theft auto"

I don't know what news youve seen (cough *fox* news) But the one guy that Jack Thompson is defending / suing for. Just happened to have some "video game" comments, about life being a game.

**** people talk about life being a sport / life being a "****" all the time

Don't see soccer, or dogs (Humor) being sued for that now do you?

The thing is, only in the states would something as ridiculous as this make it to court, its their "civil" liberties, and sue first ask questions later, nature to take things like this seriously.

Take a dangerous mountain, free crown land that people rock climb / hike / whatever on

1 death on that moutain in the states and no-one would be allowed up it without signing a waiver
10 deaths in canada, same thing would happen
100 deaths in europe, hey its your own free will do what you want, Because no-one would be worried about getting sued, for someone elses stupid / risky actions! (Not necissarily stupid, but its your own free will! your the one taking the risks, your the one responsible for your own life! don't shift the blame cause you can't take care of yourself)

I can not possibly agree with thompson. Singling out one form of media as the cause of some kid's actions will solve nothing, all a kid has to do is turn on a tv set or use a computer or read a book and chances are sooner or later he/she will encounter content that is just as bad as any violent video game if not worse. Also, what is the point of trying to prove video games give people crazy ideas when the one who is trying to prove this acts like a total nut job?
