This is on a PSP? Dear God. - Image 1

These guys have guts. We have to give them an award or something. Tiki Games, a new developer for consoles and handhelds, is looking for a publisher for Galaxy's End, an RTS for, among others, the PSP. Yes, they said RTS. PlayStation Portable Real-Time Strategy. EALA said RTS on the Xbox 360. These guys are claiming RTS on a handheld. Excuse us while we sit stunned.

Tiki says on their site that they've gotten Stage 1 Approval from SCEA. Guess this means they really do have something on their hands. Still looking for a publisher, though. Below are the work-in-progress screenshots and the DL for the gameplay movie for what they claim is the PSP version (again, sitting there stunned).  And this Koei vet thought Romance VIII made his week...

That's it. We have got to talk to these guys when we get the chance. Really. Handheld RTS on the go. That takes balls. If anyone who's reading this is related to, say, Ubisoft or Koei or Namco Bandai or something...

Ugh, RTSs in low resolution with a D-pad/analog?
The game looks nice and all, but you can't do RTSs with those controls.

 » well...

Warcraft II Battle.net runs on 60mhz,16mb RAM, and uses 80mb of hd space... so a decent rts should be able to run on the psp with its 333mhz,32mb RAM and large amounts of space on UMDs and memory sticks.

» Real-Time on WiFi? Don't make me laugh

The PSP barely keeps "realtime" for poker games, much less multiplayer strategy.

No way is this going to be playable in anything but single player mode.

» that's why RTS are always for pc

I wonder what the controls will be like. I hope the don't use a mouse pointer controlled by the analog stick. That would probably suck. I would at least use companies, with a selectable leader. It would really be a pain if you must draw a rectangle over individual units to select them all

Hmm, I used to own the domain tikigames.com. I might try to acquire it again. ;)

 » Looks Awful

I'm a big RTS fan, but from the screenshots it looks really badd. I would be much happier with Starcraft, Warcraft or any Age of Empires game.
