We know our handheld's XMB looks fine and well already but changes are sometimes good. As much as you don't want to be wearing the same clothes every day and eating the same food every meal, we are pretty sure you don't want that for your PSP either. XMB Icon Hacking is a Lua application created by homebrew coder kgsws. As the name implies, the application allows for changing icons on our XMB. It was originally made for 1.5 FWs. Although kgsws isn't sure if there will be complications with other firmwares, he suggested just the same to use custom ones so as to avoid problems. |

Well, nice app... My idea: Make themes and spread them!
How about an anime xmb? Cant wait to do this!
Dax is working on it.
2.80 dg releaced
I know 2.80 downgrader is released.... but my psp is a TA-082! Darn... can downgrade yet...

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id+psp+thread.id+2733462
i a;ready did works fine exept for some missing icons but they still work
sry i posted the wrong link here it is
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id+psp+thread.id+2733462
i partially bricked my psp with this program but luckily i went to my recovery menu since i have oe-b and renamed the 2 folders to recovery and recovery% and flashed my old topmenu. Make sure you definitely make a back up of your old topmenu.
Does this work on 3.02 OE-B??
Please reply!!
not really, read my post above, i have oe-b
I tried it, it works but some of the icons nder "Network" are invisible
For all you people out there who actually believed me. OWN3D! XP
-Marq
at least we didn't get CALZOWNED! :P
AMAGAD!!!!!!11111one
DipSh17
does it work on 3.02-b or not.
Hi,
I tried it on a OE-A and I bricked my PSP. So I think that it also doesnt work on a OE-B :(
But you can try it yourself because there is still the recovery-mode...
I got to wait till my PSP-Battery is at 75% an then i will dump a 1.5 and try to use the MOD with dh.
(I think it dont works because fw at 2.0 or above have 6 icons and 1.5 has just 5)
***** ya just put a 6.bmp but if u did u might have to edit some code
This Looks really good! make it OE compatible!
ya, i semibricked my psp cause of this now i have to reflash the old top menu plugin
it is oe compatble
So why would you want this??????????
People who can make better icons would want this.
I'll wait until it's available for OE-B
i am never touching topmenuplugin ever again, briked my 2.8 a few months back messin with it. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON ANY FIRMWARE 2.0+, it uses a different format of topmenu_plugin. BEWARE
its for like only 1.5
i tried this i put the top_menu.rco in my resource and when i tried it on devhook 3.2 it just froze ??? so... i your gonna try theres no point!!
Since we can change things like this.. does it mean we could some day maybe chance the animated background? :o :)
the background in the xmb is probably not video, im guessing its all code so to have a custom animated background a person would need to first understand the code and rewrite theres own version
Well, They DID manage to make it so you can get rid of the waves...who knows ;-)
there is one for 2.50 and up
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psp&thread.id=2733462
havn't tried it but be warned YOU ALONE are responsible if your psp bricks
Can you go back to the original incase you want to?
If so how?
Ok i have a ta-082 psp and it's a 3.02 oe-b and i used this and now every time i turn on my psp it starts up all the way to the time display and stops and frezzes! What is up with that can i get it to stop that?
get firmware 3.02oe customizer.
flash the default topmenu.rco
but first you have to put the program in your recovery console, just hold the R button at start up and youll see where to put it
idunno lol i guess ur scr*wed
how come my psps right arrow is stuck (like internally) ?
in other words the right arrow isnt pressed but yet on the screen its as if the right arrow was pressed.
y do we care about this that looks so gay and its bound to brick psp's everywhere
you can change it
thats look like crap, dont see why ppl would try that *****
those arent the only icons that work idiots, you can change them to whatever you want as long as it meets the specs of the original
who in their right mind would want letters for the xmb icons? they are there for examples..... f uckin g tards.
how can u get the original icons back....need help
