Lara CroftSideo, who has this thing for Lady Lara (then again who doesn't?) sent us this hot tip on PSP Tomb Raider which was leaked by an Eidos insider. The game has been shelved indefinitely for some reason but the decision came after the core design has been made.

Sideo wants all you PSP Tomb Raider fans out there to make some noise and convince SCi Entertainment Group Plc (SEG) to reconsider what he described as the best-looking PSP game he has seen. Don't worry Sideo, after seeing this trailer, people will make a lot of noise!

Download: [Cancelled PSP Tomb Raider Trailer]

UPDATE: This is not related to the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legend. Please count this one as the 'rumored' Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition that was cancelled before E3.

 » Emmm

Not sure if i believe this to be a leaked trailer or real footage....Does look good though!! lol

do u think that eidos would have used star wars music??

But at the end of the day i would love for this to be released....i would just rather think this was a fake video than be dissapointed with this never being made

Know how to actually watch this?? I saw its mp4 so I renamed and stuck on psp but says wrong data type :S.

 » Are you sure?

I find that hard to believe considering it is supposed to be released in the uk at least tomorrow, and online retailers like play are still showing this as the case.

Has a game ever been shelved one day before release before now?

I doubt it, and i'll doubt we will see it happen now

» How To View Video on PSP

1. Rename the file to MAQ*****.MP4 (where the *'s are digits from 0-9).
2. Copy/Move the file to the MP_ROOT1ANV01 folder on your PSP memory stick.

Got this from video google. Hope it works for you.

 » back again

In fact I have just looked again on play's website and the game is in stock.
Which means the game is definetly in production and infact retailers already have copy's to sell.

 » Anniversary Edition

It seems to me that this is a trailer for the remake of the original Tomb Raider. At the end of the trailer it says:
Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition. And it sur looks like the old Tomb Raider not Tomb Raider Legend

It must bull saying it is cancelled. It is probably their tactic to get people hyped up for advertising purposes. I wont be surprised to see qj net themselves apologising for this article saying sorry for the bull we reported last week or something.
eidos insider- year right!

» Yes, as #7 wrote. For gods sake, idiots (sorry)

This is the remake of the first Tomb Raider, and thats great (cuz the first one is still the best). Did heard for some month ago about a remake of this (because it was 10 years ago the first one was released to PSX) and here it is.
But, would be cool to see one to NDS also, just the original without any chances.

To quote: "Sideo wants all you PSP Tomb Raider fans out there to make some noise and convince SCi Entertainment Group Plc (SEG) to reconsider what he described as the best-looking PSP game he has seen."

Here we go again.... *sigh* Why is it always about graphics? It never has been for me and the tides are finally turning for the masses too. It's about gameplay and to a lesser degree, content. Sure it might look like the best TR ever... but that doesn't really matter when Laua looks like she's got a Deagle shoved up her posterior. My guess is the gameplay absosmurfly blows... just like the rest of the series..... oh alright... yeah I played the first 2 for PC... they were ok... but ENOUGH! ;)

and also I just noticed on best buy...the release date for tomb raider legend on psp was pushed back to 6/22/06, when it was originally 5/18/06....ugh...I hope this game really comes out

Fozzy and the rest...Do you read these posts?

This is not saying Tomb Raider Legend is being cancelled.

Its saying that Edios had another game in production, an anniversary edition of the first that was being made, and has now been cancellend...***** you lot are tools.

 » Legend wasn't cancelled

This was a trailer for Tomb Raider 10th Anniversary Edition, not Legend which will still be released this month.

 » Cancelled? Um, no...

Anyone for QJ care to explain where the hell they got this from? The game is not cancelled, it was shipped to shops last week and will be put on the shelves when the launch date is hit.

 » Shipped? Um, no...

Dont think it was shipped yet, not unless it is gonna be stored for 3 months....play.com has a release date of september...

Let's get things clear, TR Legends for PSP is comming out - This is the game recently released on 360, PS2, PC & XBOX.

The footage shown is a different title named TR Anniversary, and there is no sign of this being scrapped.

What did you want me to read i posted before anything was mentioned about an aniversary edition

And where was i supposed to garner the information from the main post that it wasnt refering to legends it just says the psp tomb raider game, NOT another psp tomb raider game or the anniversary edition

Ok I was mistaken but that was only because the original article was misleading (perhaps updating to reflect its refering to the aniversary edition or another tomb raider game not legends would be a good idea)

So before you start calling people idiots telling them to read, how about you read what has gone before my original post and not after and tell me how I was realistically supposed to know from reading

I know its not refering to legends now from useful posts like 7 (note after my original posts) your post achieves nothing but to flame.

» No, this video has nothing to do with Tomb Raider: Legned

Hi everyone that is confused here,

This video was sent to us by Sideo. He said it is a cancelled title from the Tomb Raider series - "Tomb Raider - Anniversary Edition".

This was a game designed for the PSP, according to the wide screen maybe, and was cancelled for some reason before this E3.

If you were a good old Tomb Raider player, you may be able to recognize some scenes, such as the famous Dinosaur Valley. So this video ain't a fake. And according to the graphics quality, this video is possible on the PSP.

Personally I think this game may still reveal itself later, since the game looks near completed.

And in the end, everyone, this has nothing to do with "Tomb Raider: Legends". The game is on its track now, according to the press release we read about yesterday. There is no way that it got cancelled.

 » fozzy got burned

Nice work at trying to defend your stupidity, next time it might just work. Where in the post does it say anything about Legends? You should have watched the trailer, and you would have seen it was for the anniversary edition. Posting a comment without looking at the facts is going to get you burned. Put it down as a lesson learnt.

   by photoboy (Unregistered) - 2006-06-08
 » Re: #21

What do you mean Play.com has a release date of September? It's in stock and shipping according to them. Since tomorrow is the official street date they are most likely posting them today so people get them in time for release.

» 26 there you go flaming again

"Nice work at trying to defend your stupidity, next time it might just work. Where in the post does it say anything about Legends? You might want to re-read my last post, where was i saying that it said it was legends (all i was saying was by just saying tomb raider most would have assumed it was legends as i am sure that many like me were unaware of the anniversary edition before now) i actually said I agreed after reading others later posts (that i mentioned in that last post were useful) that it was about the anniversay edition.

And now I take it you admit it wasnt clear in the original article because you are now telling me to watch the video rather than read (at least there is an improvement in your outlook there), and i would have watched the video if i had the available bandwith to do so.

Personally i think it says it all that the article has been updated to reflect its refering to anniversary edition not legends (like i suggested in my last post)

So quite frankly you can say i got burned all you like and go on flaming at least more people wont make the same mistake because the article has been updated and because of later posts clarifying the issue rather than flaming after the posts where I was mistaken.

By the way I got no problem with pspupdates i find by and large the news is normally informitive and published before other sites, and if a new development is made or on the rair occasion somthing is unclear it is udated fairly quickly as has been done today.

 » Arghh

This gamel looks pretty darn hot, hope it still makes it. I wondered initially why Eidos would schedule two Tomb Raiders (Anniversary and Legends) for the same year.

 » Tomb Raider 1

Looks a lot like Tomb Raider 1, especially the dinosaurs and the lava thing.
