Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - SCi management under fire - Image 1

The Tomb Raider games make up one of the more popular franchises out there. Lara Croft has appeared on most major video game platforms (even the PC) at least once, but it seems that her pop culture status isn't helping its creating studio, SCi Entertainment, keep afloat.

In the last five months, shares for the company have dropped 65% and one analyst predicts that they will be depleted by May or June. It's gone so bad that they've delayed the release of a number of games, including the latest Tomb Raider game, Underworld.

Shareholders have called for the resignation of the company's chief executive, Jane Cavanagh, who founded SCi 20 years ago. Also under the shareholders' grip are Bill Ennis, Cavanagh's husband and SCi's commercial director, as well as chairman Tim Ryan.

It was announced last year that the company is up for grabs to the highest bidder, but it seems there have been no serious offers and the company has closed negotiations. What will become of Lara Croft? Check back for updates.
