We compete very effectively right now. The thing that we care most about and what is relative to our online experience is that we currently have 3 million users and they have downloaded 60 million pieces of content.
There has never been a 3D based community for a console system with such a rich media interface, with streaming video, and with complex environments. Given that we have our own network, that every device we sell has a built in hard drive, we have an opportunity to do things with and for the consumer like nothing that has been done before. Given we're a division of Sony you can expect that we will deliver a video download service that offer music and video directly for download as well as other things. In terms of delivery and content of that service, those details will come as we get closer to launch. |

PSN ALMOST competing effectively. It will be a competition once they finally release HOME. Until then, Xbox live still has the win.
Might I ask what xboxlive provides that PSN doesn't and that Home will make up for ?
Just an honest question.
charging 50 a year
estimate(6 million people * 50$ =tree hundred million a year
and they don't use that money for the 360 users and their even restricting on how silver members get their content. Waiting over a week for a demo just so you get annoyed and buy the gold membership
I just noticed this today! (I hardly ever play my 360, since I have a PS3, Wii, and lots of PC games).
MY son was disappointed that he couldn't download the demo, but I sat down and explained to him how Microsoft appeared to be restricting access to demos in an attempt to get Gold subscription money. He instantly got it and I could tell (from the look in his face, and how he turned off the 360 and turned on the PS3) that he completely understood that it was a move Microsoft made for nothing other than the love of money.
He's six.
If others his age see through these 'bold' marketting moves, Microsoft has maybe 15 more years or so until they're a medium sized company.
I tell you what, that kid of yours has a good head on his shoulders. If I were you, I'd be one proud father, that's for sure.
Sure, Microsoft says that now... but the second you accuse them of being a Monopoly they'll say that everything down to the forums at Food.Tv is giving them a run for their money.
What the heck is up with the "top jumps in the last 24 hours" box? An article from 2 yrs ago has first place at 308 jumps. This has been happening a lot on this site (i've noticed this for a long time). Ancient articles are being jumped a LOT.
Hacker, perhaps?
hehehe! yup, we've noticed it too, stingray_shrey. it baffled us as well, actually. and it's not limited to the "top jumps in the last 24 hours" box either. if you check the "user favorites" right-side banner, some old articles have cropped up also.
some of us have been thinking that it's either a bug or people just really are jumping up those ancient articles (PSP 1.50 FTW!). besides, some people tend to get sentimental reading those old news items and seeing how far we've come. hehehe! ;-)
don't worry though, we're currently investigating the matter, and thanks for pointing it out all the same. ^_^
I mean its almost the same if not the same, the only thing different is TV shows and etc oh wait thats XBLM my bad. Im still waiting for the PS1 classics like FF7,8,9 and GTA to show up on PS store though.
And yeah i have seen some old articles being jumped like Tutorial Alert: Installing YDL and VLC on your PlayStation 3 that has been closed to comments and no body even commented on t since March.
Hehe. He should read qj.net more.
