Lost

Do you sometimes have the urge to control the fates of Jack, Kate and the rest of the Lost gang yourself, instead of helplessly watching them stumble from one mystery to the other? Well, you may get your chance soon - Ubisoft has announced the creation of a game based on popular TV series Lost, for which they are collaborating with Touchstone Television and producer Bryan Burk.

Ubisoft's award winning Montreal studio (Splinter Cell et al.) will be handling the development, with gameplay details unknown as of yet. Since the show is primarily a drama, not an action fest, it's gonna be interesting to see how the unique setting and characters will translate into a game.

"Many of us on ‘Lost’ have been hardcore gamers for years and the chance to work with Ubisoft, a company behind some of our favourite titles, has excited us to no end," Bryan Burk said.  "With the ability to tell new interactive stories within the ‘Lost’ universe, we’re giddy to be developing a game that, once completed, will be as engaging and fun to play as it is to create."

Lost: The Game is scheduled for a release in 2007 on "home and portable consoles as well as PCs".

 » Good Idea

I think it's a good idea

It will just give us more clues and ideas behind what is going on. Sort of like the books that were released.

If the show's producers are handling it, then they will do a good job to make sure everything is canon.

Diehard Lost fans will be sure to scoop this one up so that they may have a advantage over others in figuring out the secrets to Lost.

» Ubi Soft know how to deliver good game,

and also games which is different. As a game, I dont think Lost has any potential to be good. But if someone can do a good job with this one, Ubi Soft knows.

 » hmm

Im absolutly totaly obsessed with lost just like most people. Trust me every few minutes im thinking 2 days till i get to see the finale to lost series 2 (im in the uk so have to dl it on the thursday).

But even though im obsessed, i really dont think this game will work. Lost is not an action program so the only thing i could see that would work would be an RPG. That'd be quite cool but extremely difficult to get right. I can easily see this game sucking totaly. And to number .1 , how would a game kill a show lol. Did the lord of the rings movie specific games (which imo were absolutle crap) destroy the films? No is the answer to that.
