Unit Converter 0.2

Today, Access_Denied from our forums has released an updated version of his Unit Conversion application for the PSP. This handy little tool was first released a couple of days ago, but since then has undergone a huge makeover. With some nice looking graphics from Twin891 and a whole host of bug fixes, Unit Converter v0.2 has come on in leaps and bounds just two days after the first release, but is in no way perfect. No longer do you get loads of errors when you try to convert something. I successfully converted from Fahrenheit to Celsius with no glitches!

However, you have to remember that this is still quite an early version, and I still ran into a few bugs when testing this today. For some reason the program still thinks that 2 centimeters is equal to 2 millimeters, 3cm to 3mm and so forth. Also, if you go below 0, the readout goes off the screen; and although anything above 1 works, you cannot get it to go back to exactly one. These are nitpicks, and the application still works pretty well on the whole. Expect weight support and more bug fixes for the next version in days to come! Fw 1.5 and 1.0 binary versions are included in the download.

Update: We reported earlier that Access_Denied's Unit Conversion application for the PSP is experiencing some problems with minor bugs. Well Access_Denied is on a mission to make his project one of the better apps around as he come up with a new version that has fixed 5-6 of those bugs. According to him, he also "have added weight support". FW 1.5 and 1.0 binary versions are included in the download below so why not give this one a go?

I don't see any real use for this program yet, with all of the bugs, hopefully the authors will get them ironed out soon.

And it's so funny how Kyle M. gets so excited that he converted Fahrenheit to Celcius. ROTFL

Don't worry I'm getting all the bugs fixed. I fixed all but one. And I know, there isn't an real use, but I hope to change that in the next few releases. The next release should be out soon.

 » Seriously....

I respect everyone doing homebrew on the PSP. I am a programmer myself (hate the PSP though) and it is always nice to see new programs. Nevertheless this has to be one of the most useless programs for the PSP ever. And come to think of it, bugs? All this thing does basicly is multiply or divide two numbers. And even a simple GUI like this should have no bugs.

Don't get me wrong, as I said, I respect everyone trying to program for a console. But it seems so silly to release a program, that has no real purpose and as well contains bugs. Again, I cannot confirm those but they seem to be obvious if they are pointed out here in the comments.

You guys don't quite understand. QJ supports almost all homebrew artist, even the ones that are trying to come up. So quit your yapping and contribute something if you're going to say this is useless.

P.S. this program can be done in javascript or flash. Other than that, keep itup.

I agree with Emil. WTF is the point of this? This guy just wants to get premium in the QJ forums. Its ironic how in teh forums FrozenIpaq or Justin something said that a pointless pong game would not be posted to the frontpage, yet this, which is even easier than a pong game would be, IS posted. Pathetic...

Way to show support for newer programmers everyone. Some of you act like its ruining your day to have posts like this taking up your precious space on Q.J.Net. Get a life and ***** about something worth *****ing at.

 » seriously

This is a homebrew site that supports all homebrew for the psp. If the program doesn't interest you then don't come to the comments and bash somebodys work that they are spending time on. Have some respect for your peers people.

You know..

With appearing of any kind of homebrew, I remember how big Sony sux with making PSP more secured against any type of un-commercial material..

i think this is a point of view too.. :)

» to all people who hate this app

you guys obviously dont know how to program or even understand logic.

it takes talent to even put a 'hello world' in psp.

if you guys who bashed this thread, can create an app that can multiply 1 * 1 in psp.

i'll donate 1$

first 3 people who can react and send me the sourcecode, and eboot, that i can load through gta

get the 1$

the forethought to upload something for the benefit of others then please dont bash it. Totally disrespectful. Just ignore it and concentrate on trying to get yourself noticed by a girl.

well done for the app

 » again

I think I wasn't able to deliver my message.

I know that there are a lot of easier platforms to program for and congratulations on mastering the PSP. But if I have the knowledge and skills to do something on the PSP then I guess I would be able to think of something more useful than this? It is nice to see yet another person programming for the PSP but seriously, it takes more than that. There is so much going on in the homebrewing scene that "just being able to" doesn't do it anymore.
