Ó

Okay, so you've already captured videos of your family at their most embarrassing moments with the PSP camera, now what do you do? Upload them for blackmail on the net, of course. And for many net-savvy gamers, the site of choice would have to be Youtube. For the guys just wondering how exactly to pull that off, you're in luck.

Just after yesterday's release, zmcnulty has put up another set of Youtube videos for fellow PSP owners out there, and these will be guiding us through the process of uploading PSP camera-recorded videos direct from the portable into Youtube. But before you get started on the videos, zmcnulty notes important details on the video settings:

  • The Camera needs at least firmware 3.00 or above to work.
  • The ideal video setting for youtube uploads is 320 x 240.
  • (Obviously) You'll need an existing Youtube account.
Now, on to the viewing.

   Re: caldiablo - 2006-12-18
 » yes you can

you can use one of three ways to get the camera to work. 1. install the psp camera prx module with the installer someone made here earlier (just search for it). 2 you can install a 2.71/3.01-se hybrid firmware. or the best option 3. load up devhook with 3.xx emulated firmware. any firmware will do from 3.00 to 3.02.

I have a camera and you don't need 3.00 to use it. The UMD that comes with it to take photos uses 2.82.

But I am using 3.00 camera function cause its way better then Chotto Shot. (Supplied UMD)

 » Useless without VOIP video

Camera is useless until PSP has VOIP based video calls support / application. Every single $200 digital camera has already better quality.

   Re: Hansi (Unregistered) - 2006-12-18
 » not Useless

Theres the point: Every singel "200$" camera has better quality. The price for the psp Camera is about 40 to 50 bucks!!!

 » ht

Sell ya my "lego cam" for $200 there you go, not every $200 cam is better quality. XD

 » For now, in JAPAN.

North America does not have them right now ( as usual) so you just have to wait, or you can ebay it if people are already selling.

 » Ordering the camera...

LOL! You don't have to wait! Just go to www.play-asia.com and order! Wait 1-2weeks and BOOM! Then it's behind your door. Too hard, huh?

   by Dumb (Unregistered) - 2006-12-18
 » what a useless post...

ok now... why don't you go and make a tutorial on how to surf QJ.NET with your PSP.

What a useless tutorial.

Sorry about my bad English, im from Germany^^ How long could the movies be. Just a few seconds or as long as big the stick is?

 » huh

maybe its a dumb question but..if the camera makes avi files (watch 6th movie) doesnt that mean that it supports avi?

   Re: nextek (Unregistered) - 2006-12-18
 » yes

yea the psp supports avi files (2.71 and above) but youtube uses a flash player that the psp's flimsy player wont support.

   Re: Advertising -

   Re: CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS - 2006-12-18
 » to nextek,

yeah that sucks too. Alot of sites are usless on the PSP for entertainment because it the PSP don't support almost all forms of video formats. That is soooooo annoying.
   by CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS - 2006-12-18
 » Even The Playstation 3,

has a hard time with video formats. What I mean is that Sony for some reason or another refuses to allow other formats to play on their flagship hardware. Even flash from time to time won't play correctly. I even tried downloading videos from their connect psp site and it won't let me save to the hard drive these small mp4 files which is kinda stupid if you ask me. Sony really needs to do what they can to make the consumer happy and even if that means paying Microsoft to allow wmv on the Playstation formats they would win in the long run do to the consumer knowing they have that ability without alot of hassle.
