VSHPong Gamma - Image 1

Homebrew developer a_noob promised that he will be coming up with a lot of arcade classics for our dear PlayStation Portable (PSP). Before that though, he decided to give VSHPong an update. We guess this homebrew game doesn't need explanation, but for the benefit of those who don't know, VSHPong is a prx that lets users play Pong in the XMB.

What does that mean? Well, say you're watching Advent Children: Final Fantasy VII on your PSP and you suddenly got bored, you can instantly fire off VSHPong from there. This prx allows you to play it anywhere in the XMB, literally. Even inside another game should you decide to run it as a game prx.

To turn this homebrew application on, all you have to do is press the start button and the left trigger. Turning VSHPong off is done in the same manner. To control your paddle, just push the analog up and down while pushing the the start button and the right trigger will toggle between you and artificial intelligence playing.

Lastly, VSHPong is currently in Gamma version and the improvements implemented include the On and Off feature as well as a better AI versus AI.

how to get this to werk properly without any hassles

1.Hook up psp via regular usb mode
2. Open the pluggins folder
3. Copy the VSHPong.prx to the pluggins folder
4. Copy ms0:/seplugins/VSHPong.prx to the vsh.txt file in pluggins folder. put it at the bottom of the list.
5. Goto Recovery mode(hold R-trigger while full rebooting on or use the goto recovery mode app)
6. Set the vshpong pluggin to enabled
7. Exit recovery mode and back to main psp xmb
8. Hold L-Trigger and hit start. the game will appear.
9. For other game mode(auto player Ai) hit r-trigger and start(will also switch you back to single player)
10. Hit start and L trigger again to turn off.
11. Enjoy the most recognized game ever created!

This is really cool. I like how it's a homebrew you can launch with a button combo and still do stuff like play music or other stuff.

What's cool about this is that it's always there, ready to be played.

nice job!

 » can i ask a small favor

i like this prx really shows the potential of vsh code but only problem is my analogs broke and since i dont have the money to buy a new one could u add a feature to toggle analog to d-pad off and on. just a request from a prx/hb fanatic thanks in advance.

   Re: p0stal_sean (Unregistered) - 2007-03-06
» and u might be asking

how i play my games wothout an analog and ill tell u not easily. i can play 1 game so far thats a psp title and thats guilty gear but most ps1p games dont require an analog so ive been playing alot of self converted ps1 titles like crono cross but i get stuck when i try to add tyhe guy in the dungeon to my team so i gave up i think ill try parasite eve since i already converted and beat silent hill.
