Marvelous Interactive's Valhalla Knights 2 for the PlayStation Portable - Image 1

Since we first saw it back in September last year, we've seen little of Marvelous Interactive's upcoming role playing game for the PlayStation Portable, Valhalla Knights 2. Today, we've got an update for the video game title and if you're a fan, we're sure you're going to love it.

According to Japanese website Gpara, Marvelous Interactive has set a release date for Valhalla Knights 2 for Japan: May 29. In addition to marking your calendars, you may also want to take note of the game's pre-order offer. Included in the pre-order pack is the soundtrack CD entitled, Sound of Valhalla Knights. The said CD will be sporting 20 tracks, including some tracks from Shojiro Nakaoka (Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children).

In case you haven't heard of Valhalla Knights 2, or its predecessor, it's a fantasy RPG that lets you have up to six members in a party and allows for a good deal of character customization. In addition to more customization options, the sequel also sports a lot of new items, enemies, weapons, and quests, among others. Replay value shoots up as extra goodies come in the form of an Arena, an extra dungeon (Tower), an additional mode (Hard), a gallery for monsters and items, plus something called "Infinite Combos."

Anyway, we'll be trolling for more news regarding Valhalla Knights 2. Until we get more news on the title - preferably something about a North American release - check out the screenshots below.

 » Ok.

Well, i hope and pray that this effort is not the mish-mosh of what the last game was. The first one had great graphics and a ton of potential. But, it was viciously marred by horrendously repetitive gameplay and an overall lack of depth of soul and character. I am still looking for a game that is an amalgamation of what Monster Hunter Freedom is combined with the rpg/fantasy backdrop of an Oblivion or AD&D Universe complete with missions and main story ala FFT Tactics on the gba.

um..first.
