:(.. Why not an euro-release..? :(
So it's not really a "new storyline in the same environment". There are certain new scenes though.l
Worse, it's not only the same storyline, it's the same graphics and everything. They just stretched them so they are pixelated and blurry. Acceptable for a PSX emulator, but not for a production game at full price.
I'd forgotten how boring the storyline was at the beginning... -yawn-
indeed.. I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue playing.. I still haven't repicked the game up from putting it down... lol
wtf are you talkin about
its the same game buddy!
i've got this and i love it
the psp was made for rpgs
Finished playng the Iso yesterday, was quite good, kinda tragic game.
Anyways i've heard there may be a sequel to that coming?
Shin, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is for the PS2.
Its out right now in Japan and should be in the states later this year.
Been playing him for the last week and its a unique RPG line no other. with some sad storyline where you are responsabel of piking the souls of ppl who die and make them warriors to fight for you in Asgard. Its diferente from the "normal" RPG, since it is kinda plataform based and the fight is "à la FFVII" great game, waiting to finish him soon ^^
The video is actually a 6 minute review of the game. They pretty much bash most of the elements of the game. Gameplay, graphics and load times. While most of the points are valid, they are overstated. This game is a very WORTHY purchase.

I look foreward to try it out...
If you use an iso (Legal backup) then the load times are non-existant. They really like to overexaggerate on that and the graphics/gameplay. Sure the graphics are a bit blurry, but it's nothing that'll impede your playing experience. The only reason why they trash the gameplay is because they're not used to it in an RPG. They always complain how every RPG is cookie-cutter, then when something different comes along, they complain about it.
I tried this game, it's horrible
whatever you do don't be misled by the trailer.
I've played a LOT of Japanese RPG:s, and I have a pretty high tolerance for lengthy storylines, awkward gameplay and crappy voiceovers... But MAN. Seriously. This has to be one of the crappiest experiences I've ever had.
Granted, I only gave it 30 minutes of my time, since I expect to be able to have at least a tiny shred of gameplay experience during that time, but MAN was I mistaken. Those are 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. How can "skippable dialogue" NOT be a TCR for PSP games? This is 2006, for Pete's sake.
Stay very, very, VERY far away from this piece of *****.
you must not have known that the intro was 45 minutes long...
this game was fun to play but had ZERO story too it... odin predicts ragnarok, you have to find people about to die, recruit em, train em, and prepare for the final battle. thats it. i hope all rpgs arent this light on story... heck, even doom 3 had a way more interesting back story than this.
so yeah not a bad game, it is fun, but if you expect some deep envolving story, look elsewhere.
@16-you are just to much of an idiot to get what the story really is about...it is about lenneths human life and lucian(ofr christ sake anyone who watches the prologue of the game realize who valkyrie really is) you should try to get the A ending, it is really worth
