The North American version of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is still some time away but we're already excited to have this Square Enix classic on the Sony PlayStation Portable. We can't help you get the game in advance, but what we can do is show you this short video clip that IGN posted recently. It shows that old Final Fantasy summon icon Ifrit and he looks.... very familiar. Check it out:

Yup, that's him in all his fiery glory laying waste to that poor guy down below. Fans who played the original Final Fantasy Tactics would probably agree that he looks more or less the same as before, and that could either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective.

Ifrit is among the first summon spells you'll be able to learn in Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. He should be worth about the same amount of job points as Shiva and Ramuh, so it's basically a choice between fire, lightning and ice elements at the onset. Summoners were appreciated for the nice area range of their spells which pack a lot of damage and avoid friendly fire. Watch out for this title because it's looking to be as immersive as the original favorite from the PSX days.

I don't understand why they couldn't have made the graphics good...it looks like it's designed to be ported over to the DS.
