Final Armada Logo - Image 1Virgin PLAY recently snagged the rights to publish Final Armada for the PlayStation 2 and PSP in PAL territories. The game was developed by I-Imagine Studios, a company which was put up in 1999 and is based in South Africa.

The General Manager of Virgin PLAY Francisco Encinas spoke on the importance of this signing to the company saying that "this is another important step for Virgin PLAY in our international expansion of the business. V.2Play has been established so that we can publish games developed by top studies. We work with the best to satisfy our public."

So what's Final Armada about? The press release called it an "action/ combat game based on controlling vehicles." Gamers will be put in the shoes of Lieutenant Zake Anderson who will be piloting The Agressor. It's a combat vehicle that can transform and open large cans of whoop-butt on the enemies. The backstory is pretty extensive, and countless little factoids can be found in the factsheet we have for download at the end of this article.

I-Imagine founder and General Manager Dan Wagner spoke on the game saying that "Final Armada is the first PS2 and PSP game to be developed in South Africa, and we are excited to be working with Virgin Play to release it throughout Europe"

No release date has been slated for the game yet, though it has already been rated by PEGI at 12+. Will this game become just another generic shooter or perhaps the ground breaking game it was designed to be?
