N'gai Croal notes in his blog that Sony should address the problem of them not having an active presence in the realm of blogging. He cites Ozymandias (Andre Virgnaud) and other Microsoft bloggers like Major Nelson, Gamerscore, and Game Tycoon as a nice example Microsoft reaching out and making a connection with the citizens of the internet. We need to distinguish between "viral" marketing and "guerrilla" marketing. The reality is that no agency can create viral marketing, this is the sole domain of the consumer. Viral marketing is what happens when a campaign works - when we allow their message to travel via our own superefficient conduits. Perhaps it is entertaining on its own terms, divorced from the message. Perhaps it is a game or a story, like I Love Bees or other ARGs, where we take ownership in it. What distinguishes this from guerrilla Marketing is that we are aware of the message. When we are not aware of the message, or when the agents of the message misrepresent themselves, we call this "deception." Being relevant in the digital space is something that I want to see our organization do better. We've made some moves recently to do some of that. It's baby steps, but it's something you'll see more of from us going forward. |

number one !!!! first post, I´m so excited!
the guy below me is a *****got!!!
***** you n00b, go somewere else or even better, go ***** your mom
What is this? US Politics? I don't think that Sony should lower themselves to the level where they "bash everything Microsoft" in order to keep up with the Jones' - it's pathetic. Everytime that I hear MS bash other products it's because they are insecure in the market. Now, I loath the company MS but I do have many of their products, and love many of them; however, blogging is for the small fish - we blog because we don't have a huge creative outlet - these companies should know when to leave the personal internet users turf alone and start paying more attention to their own *****ing issues.
You think Sony are innocent? Where do you think XBox 1.5 came from? It was Ken Kutaragi, and he had a lot more to say, such as claiming the 360 was competing with the PS2 and not PS3.
http://www.engadget.com/2005/05/25/xbox-360-xbox-1-5-kutaragi-trashtalkin/
Weeks later, he had even more to say...

So, what was that about lowering themselves Kristian? I guess Sony are REALLY insecure in the market then, don't you think?
I'm not standing up for Sony saying that they are any kind of better - but seriously, don't you think that this *****ing back and forth via blogs has got to stop.... it's pathetic
No such word as 'virii', it's just something nonces use thinking it's 'correct', to show everyone else just how 'elite' they are.
"Their occurrence can be variously attributed to hypercorrection formed by analogy to Latin plurals such as radii; idiosyncratic use as jargon among a group, such as computer hackers; and deliberate word play..."
Nice creative snipping. More from that page:
viri and virii are virtually unknown in edited prose, and no major dictionary recognizes them as alternative forms.
Or maybe http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/faq/plural-of-virus.html , which was hosted at perl.com until their reshuffle of pages:
The plural of virus is neither viri nor virii, nor even vira nor virora. It is quite simply viruses, irrespective of context.
But no, no, you're probably right. And you're leet and awesome for it. Ph33r you.
I think a true Sony blog would be nice because for somebody who doesn't have the time to go find out what's all happening for PSP, PS2, PS3 it would really help them. You can already kind of get a feeling like people need to make a little more noise about certain PS2 titles coming out like God of War 2 and Rogue Galaxy.
Right now if your looking for a Sony loving blog just use PS3 Fanboy. It's a good site if your looking for news and such that is plagued by the opposing crowd. If Sony does make a blog I'll read it, but if they don't it really won't leave me in the dark.
gotta love this site - best way to keep up in the news without having a completely biased blog
That's the reason I'm hear this site does a great just of compiling news from other sites and giving a summary of it.
the last thing sony needs is a Ozymandias. Sony could never get away with some of the bulls.hit antics this guy plays.
