WVista

DourelDMX (thanks for the heads up!) has introduced the WVista. It is a portal that you can download into your system to play your currently downloaded .swf files. It can also do other stuff, so you might want to check them out. It's quite a helpful homebrew and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the ropes of this user-friendly app.

To install:
  • download the file from the link below
  • place WVista folder into your psp/common folder
  • open up the internet browser on your PSP
  • go to: psp/common/wvista/vista.swf
The developer used Flash MX to code this program and he credits PSp2gamer for inspiration. As always, there's a readme file inside the folder to refer to when you're confused.

Download: [WVista]

Update: "DourelDMX" commented below that this only works for 2.7+ and (of course) you must have Flash enabled (it's an SWF file, after all). Do not look for the an "index.htm" file: the index is "vista.swf" (psp/common/wvista/vista.swf if you follow the directions above).

Sorry Guys, when I wrote the readme file I was in a rush, this only works for 2.7+ and you must have Flash enabled or it won't work as the for the index.htm thing...your supposed to open the vista.swf. Anyway the next version will be better. hey Yongo, I got most of my ideas from your WvP, I'm in love with it(not really)

Another reason why this portal is a bit on the dull side, I made it about 2-3 months ago and was using it to load my own files and figured "I should share this!" enjoy!!!

good job to the person that worked on it, but there are WAY too many of these shells coming out. The ones in C/C++ are the only ones that can actually have great features. and i believe you are infringing on some copyright laws with this, which QJ made perfectly clear they were cracking down on this and no infringing homebrew (or in this case flash file) would make front page.... tch tch

 » help

how do u get it 2 work everytime i put da psp/common/.... in da browser it doesnt work

   by Joe (Unregistered) - 2006-09-03
 » What to do

1)place the wvista folder in your common folder
2)go to your internet browser on your psp
3)type file:/psp/common/wvista/vista.swf into the adress
bar
?)if it dosent work and you get content cannot be displayed then there could be something wrong with your memory stick if there was you would have to format it under system settings but before you do that make shure you didnt put WVista folder in common instead of wvista which is the folder in WVista

I've followed Joe's instructions, but i still get the "can't be displayed" error, for this and anything other flash files i've tried from this site, the instructions seem simple, so the problem is me, what am i doing wrong?

 » Too much hassle

Couldn't figure it out, after 1 hour of typing and getting errors i quit, make this on eboot please.

   by DourelDMX (Unregistered) - 2006-09-03
 » seriously

seriously people it's as simple as just putting the wvista folder in the PSP/COMMON folder and typing in "file:/psp/common/wvista/vista.swf" the portal works, and please be sure that your Flash is "enabled" and that you have a 2.7+ PSP. I would hate to see so many of you complaining and not knowing that you made a stupid mistake like that...also I would make it an eboot if I had the proper knowledge in how that stuff works, I just make Flash stuff Ok.
