Sleep'n'Wake v1.1 - Image 1Sleep'n'Wake v1.1 - Image 2

It's nice to wake up smelling brewed coffee in the morning, especially when you were roused from bed by the nifty PlayStation Portable (PSP) homebrew application Sleep'n'Wake. This doesn't need any further introduction as the program is pretty much straight up - it is a useful application that turns your handheld into a nice alarm clock.

It was developed by QJ.Net Forum member MK2k and the coder just improved Sleep'n'Wake to version 1.1. According to him, the demand for a better version was really overwhelming so he came up with an updated and enhanced release. The complete changelog follows:
  • 50MHz underclock in Sleep Mode while no mp3 is played
  • Big Digits Time Display in Sleep- and Wake Mode (see screenshot)
  • Left and Right shoulder buttons now exit Wake Mode too
  • An overflow with adding items to the playlist fixed
  • Playlist enlargement to 99 max. entries
  • Filebrowser now remembers last visited Directory
Take note that the installation instruction and other pertinent details are in the Readme file so don't forget to browse through that first. The first version of Sleep'n'Wake was compatible with firmwares 1.0, 1.5, and 3.xx OE. All other remaining firmwares are yet to be tested.

50MHz, because reliability is more important than 30MHz less CPU clock.

hi, quick thank youfor this. Just one thing, i put an mp3 in for the alarm and when it went off the mp3 plays for about 2 secs and then the psp froze. Anyone else have this prob?

See, this is a minimalistic MP3 player inside, so a faulty mp3 can cause it to crash. I tested with lots of mp3s and never had errors.

This app doesn't seem to work for me... last night I set up my sleep list/wake list and went to sleep to my lighter music. This morning, I woke up at like 9:35 and my PSP was turned on, but no music was playing. I had my alarm set to 9:30, and if the alarm had gone off, I would've woken up. It makes me think my alarm just didn't go off. Can anyone confirm this working? One more thing: I noticed this program only lets me choose .mp3 files with a lowercase extension. A lot of my mp3s are named like Name.MP3 (where the M and P are capitalized), and this program doesn't let me use them. It would be nice if you could fix it to allow extensions like mP3, Mp3, MP3.

Will fix the capitalization thing in the next version, thank you.
Odd that the WakeMode hasn't fired, please test a bit with your playlist and write me an email if you still have those problems.
