Yes guys, I'm not kidding! Remember when I said that the newest firmware required some magic on the part of Team C+D? Well, I guess it didn't take them very long to finish their work. And in this case, it was another fine piece of work- You can call it the Firmware 3.10 decrypter by the way! |

Wow!
this is the ship devhook with 3.10 will be cool
FIRST!!! WOOT
i love hackers !
nice job team c+d, congratulations.
now they just need a few days and its gonna be HOOK and/or OE joyful/wonderful days once again.
THANK YOU everyone that contributed.
Sony is also secretly thanking you guys for keeping the PSP sales high enough not to be left out on the market. PSP although not as great as DS did also enjoy a very successful year of sales.
i updated to 3.10
i dfjkf
I have a psp(1006) 3.10 OE-A, How do i play psx games on it. I have made the eboot files, but on the psp it shows the pic of the game but says data currupt,, i neeed helplol
that was awful fast. freakin genious
Even with this I can't get my xbox360 games to work on my psp. What am I doing wrong? Please help me.
PS2 games work just fine.
just when 3.03 OE-C was relkeased ¬¬
now I'll have to update again ¬¬
Flashing my PSP gives me the creeps
You say flashing gives you the creeps, then don't do it. Honestly, unless there's a major feature in OE, don't bother.
Remember the big scary thing to worry about with bricking is the inital downgrade (farking scary) and then playing around with flash0.
The upgrader itself is just as safe and stable as the official Sony one, they do the same thing. Just use common sense, ie a fully charged battery and the power cable plugged in. And all modules disabled.
Nothing to be scared of.
That first downgrade, Was the scariest... I was literally *****ting my pants, hoping it wouldn't brick it, As my PSP has just expired from it's warranty a few days back. X_x I still worry a little when I downgrade now. :/
why do you keep downgrading ? X_X
Don't know why. But recommended to have empty umd tray while flashing. Look at forums.
wow... Sony just cant win these days. Great job to everyone who was responsible for this achievement!! Sony got pwnd again :)
Sony should just give up
You're right sono, Sony should just stop releasing new firmware versions so we'll never get any real new features. Good thinking.
its still good for sony giving updates.
its gives hackers something to work upon.
then hackers gives us the opportunity to use what sony gave us and still enjoy homebrew programs.
if sony stop updating the psp firmware for example when it was just 2.xx then we wont be able to play PS1 games on the psp EVER. updates are cool but hacked updates are way better. so please sony give us more updates and more psp capabilities (ex any video format playback, or ability to play ps2 games, this is just an example so don't flame this dummy). oh and please stop using the phrase "security update" you are sounding more like microshlt windoes
THATS AWESOME... I DON'T BELIEVE MY EYES~!
AWESOME JOB NOOBZ!
THATS AWESOME... I DON'T BELIEVE MY EYES~!
AWESOME JOB NOOBZ!
Isn't Team C+D different people than Noobz?
C+D+NOOBZ
THE ARE AS IMPORTANT AS EACH OTHER
I'm really starting to questions Sony's intelligence right now. I hope the Dax's new update will have U-tube support.......
Dark_alex doesn't add new features (besides recovery), he just unlocks the locks put place by Sony. I don't think he could modify the actual web browser or anything like that, at least not without the source code, which is locked away deep inside Mt. Sony.
ISO loading... playing unencrypted PS1 games... etc...
anyway, just as flarephoenix says, he unlocks stuff. The psx iso playing was already in the 3.0+ firmware, he just unlocked it so you could use it without buying stuff..
the ISO loading part is also just an unlocked thing. sony does this by the demo games. loading games from MS. and before you think about it, DA also just unlocked the bitrate cap of the AVC player.
and about Youtube playable directly playable, homebrew maybe able to remedy this by creating a new homebrew browser capable of showing FLV flash 9, but i think the psp memory will hinder this capability. but dont take my word for it, it can be possible (like location free player) homebrew style. i also want youtube direct on my psp very much!
Yeah DAX would need sony's source code to REALLY modify the FW, the PS1 thing was just unlocked by DAX like they said and ISO loading is just tricking the PSP into thinking the UMD is in the drive, and loading UMD games is a feature sony obviously needed to put in... but the demo loading has nothing to do with loading ISOs...
the solution to youtube is easy do know how windows uses virtual memory (RAM2Harddrive) basically make a homebrew browser that caches memory to the ms ppl with 1g or higher ms's would be fine there and you could watch youtube all day on ur psp! oh yeah and flash9
Sony just got ***** Slapped!
who would have thought that a working decrypter would be released on day0? Team C+D is really serious about this stuff... great work anyways.
Homebrew Hackers = 8
Sony = 0
lol
hahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAhhhahh sony is so pi55ed right now i bet :D
might i remind you that SONY manufactured your psps?
For some reason people keep forgetting that. Sony made an awesome piece of hardware but they are not very good at coding, and because of that we have homebrew, but that doesnt mean sony is stupid nor a looser.
I totally agree. Sony should get props for their excellent console designs and their ability to lead the pack with quality gaming products. The only reason I support Homebrew is to fully utilize the abilities possible on the PSP, NOT to hurt Sony. They're trying to protect their interrests and earn back the million$ they've invested in R+D. After all,if Sony goes down, they take the PSP and any future PSP versions with them! THEN where would we be? That's right... complaining about how much the Nintendo DS sucks - because that's all we'll have left. No thanks.
Sony rules.
I dislike sony but I bought a psp cause M$ doesnt make a xbox handheld and if they had "awsome" console design than there would be 2 fregin analog sticks!!!
you suck
It's different parts of Sony, it's a big corporation remember? We dislike the Sony programmers for trying to control us. The hardware designers are good :D
1: they made your friggin PSP
2:they add all the FW features
only prob with sony is they will not let you use homebrew on theyre systems which again is actually a smart marketing descision because piracy is so bad these days they cant just give u the option to pirate and expect you not to use it ppl just arent that noble anymore
sweet you guys are amazing
$ONY got pwned! H4x0rs!
DAX'll have to include location free in 3.10 OE-A
(Its pronounced 3.10 Oh-YEAH!)
DAX removed the location free player for space. I doubt he will put that in. Instead he can put something actually worth using. If you want to use the location free player, use devhook and emulate a sony firmware with the location free player. (Do you really use this?)
"(Its pronounced 3.10 Oh-YEAH!)"
What's the point of making a comment like this?
what about 3.10oe_B
should we pronounce it as three point ten oh noob?
Wow that's f()ckin' amazing. I hope to see a new custom firmware soon. Great job guys
Nice!
I think DAX should remove the other languages (korean, russian, etc) instead of removing the LocationFree feature. The additional languages take up a LOT of flash space, and besides, 99% of users don't even use them. Removing Certificate Utility might also help as well. Personally, I think another valuable addition would be the ability to disable Network Update via recovery menu(to prevent accidental update). Good luck DAX!
Yeah, let's not think of the people that don't speak engilsh, right?
So many idiots as such few bullets..
There's no reason for DAX to remove those languages, since other people use those. If you don't want them, remove them yourself. Also, I'm pretty sure Dark_Alex already disabled that.
Remove your ass from QJ :)
Maybe they do not come but u just have to swap english with u r languge.
I agree with you, only Americans (not the capitalization) should get the English feature no other language should be in there.. ESPECIALLY NOT SPANISH... F|_|K1N mexicans (not the lack of capitalization)
Holy Crap! I Check in the morning... FW 3.10 released... I check in the evening... FW3.10 decrypted!!! now if DAX cud release his CFW by 2nite... then today would be a day that would make Sony hang their heads in shame ;-)
please try to complete your sentence
sony psp firmware software division should only be the ones who should be ashamed. btw sony is happy because DA and the others make PSP sales a success.
Almost every console sold in the last 10 years cost as much or more to make than they are sold for. License fees for games are where the money is.And since most savy users can dl iso's....sales are down...
I wonder how much work they put into the PSX emulator. I'm going to pray that Driver 1 is now compatible.
Use POPStation on 3.03 OE. Hippie.
They have it down to a science.
KK I kinda know DAX is going to make 3.10 OE-A. I'm going to get it, but wut is the use of devhook on 3.10? Can I do anything with devhook?
right now, im more excited for devhook supporting FW3.1 and usbhostFS than 3.1oe_A. i like using my PC as an ISO storage than my 1gb MS. or they should create a plugin for 3.03oe to use usbhostfs that would make our psp lives a little better.
awesome
maybe now i can just wait for a 3.10 downgrader instead of buying a 2.0 gta:lcs (can't find this anywhere)
There's a good chance that it wold still require that. :P
Anyone heard yet if any changes have been found with the PSX emulator? Just wondering what we might be able to expect on the compatibility front with user-ripped ISO's that were converted to EBOOTs. It'd be nice if the few little bugs were ironed out with FF7.
u can use it in 303oe-c to play ff7. they little annoyance is the blicking command bar while fighting enemies would be gone using the plugin.
FF7 hasn't worked perfectly in any version of the emu released so far. Going back to the 3.02 version via this plugin fixes the swirly thing when battles starts, but there's still going to be the transparency issues with the menus during the battle. It's minor, I know, but it's still distracting to me.
Beyond FF7, though, there were some games that didn't work at all. I don't happen to own any of those at the moment, but I'm sure some people do. I'm wondering if anything has been updated in Sony's emu in this new firmware that might help compatibility.
they just release another sh*tty fw for hacker to play. n wat? we have a new playground. great !
and quite badly this time too.
lets just hope sony dosent get to overwhelmed and just KILL the whole PSP project cuase people keep hacking it, not that the job u hackers are doing is bad, hells yeah more power to you, but try not to make too personal as to force sony out of the gaming world.

but try not to make too personal as to force sony out of the gaming world.
[/quote]
I think the real concern is making it personal enough for Sony to actually put forth an effort to stop homebrew.
sony has spent too much money on psp and its doing pretty well so sony has no reason to cancel it because of a couple hacks.
you know, maybe Sony aren't trying to stop homebrew anymore, sure, they can't openly allow use to use it, but i think they don't really care anymore, they just focus on adding some useful things to their firmwares.maybe that's why it seems so easy to hack.Sure, they don,t agree on using pirated games, but any developer can't condone the use of user-made programs...if you look at firmware 1.0, there was no protection at all, homebrew was able to run without any exploits, then sony got sued or a warning, i don't remember, saying that they weren't allowed to let us use homebrew and crap like that, so they did try for a while to stop us from doing so.i just think that past 3.0, they just put some basic protection to let whoever,s watching them believe they're still making an effort, while they secretly don't give a damn anymore. they realized homebrew was a good thing, to a certain extent, and don't mind letting us use it.but that's just my point of view. who else shares my opinion?
..... >.>
I do really agree Sony isn't trying as hard as they used to be. They do give a ***** though.
My theory is that they cannot change certain things due to compatability issues that might arise on older games already released. They are stuck with obvious exploits that they can do nothing about, unless they wanted to institute a "ship your old umd for a new one" program. My 2 bits.
Sony is still trying just as hard. That's why they patched both the old and new GTA exploits in firmware 3.10.
That's just what they have to do. Their jobs is to patch everything, that's no big deal. It's the amount of effort put into patching everything that lets people tell the difference. Remember how long it took to get downgraders for the older firmwares? It seemed like a lifetime. 3.00 came out, the next day it was hacked, then 3.01-3, now 3.10 in less than 24 hours. You think they're really put forth all the effort they can? Sure people are using different methods, but it can be a number of reasons. You said they patched the GTA exploit, apparently not good enough the first time around since it's still usable. But that must be them trying. : P
I understand every hacker is amazing at doing that and finding exploits and whatnot, but as it goes on, Sony is not trying as hard, they're just doing what they're supposed to do, and continue to patch the exploits, and add new features.
I think they've pretty much given up on trying to stop the homebrew scene. It's a big scene and everything that they have tried has been defeated by hackers who learn more and more about Sony's methods every time they release a firmware. They know that without a new motherboard, they're wasting effort and money that could be bringing us end-users (and prospective newbies) better features and new uses -- which is the way it should be. For me, if it wern't for the homebrew scene, my PSP would have been sold by now because it didn't have features that I found with homebrew apps. Sony has some big fish in the frying pan right now. They need to focus on getting more games out. They've got the whole blu-ray thing going on, the PS3, ect., etc. I love what seems to be a new focus on getting that beautiful PSP into more hands instead of trying to stop something they have almost no control over. Maybe when they start making some money off of their new efforts they'll come back to try to pull the plug on this, but they'll always know that the scene won't go away. WTG C+D!!! Mad Propz!

COME ON, THEY COULDNT DECRYPT IT BEFORE THE UPDATE CAME OUT, BEFORE DAY 0, THATS WEAK,................haha
It seems a little to easy for these guys to break the encription, maybe they are planting little bits of code in each update, and when all of them are in place. WHAMMM, bricked psp's..........
... actually i think they are placing little bits of code in your head to brick your brain!
did you guys ever think about the devs at sony not being corporate slavetothemoney guys but actually just some dudes lucky to have a good job in a major company???
I don't even think that'd be possible; besides, when the firmwares were/are decrypted, the devs look at the files, so Sony wouldn't be able to hide anything anyway.
I'm not surprised at all by this. If you guys have followed the scene for awhile, you would have noticed that the smarter guys are on our side. Thank you to all the psp hackers out there, you make the system worth having.
it might be not the factor smartness, but merely dedication... ?
all this sony vs. hax0rs crap is really so stupid.
the thing is: there's no good homebrew out there. besides the helperapps, the emulators, pspradio, and psprhythm there's really nothing that i wouldn' call testin-my-beginners-coding-capabilities-and-unleashing-it-to-the-notsoeager-crowds stuff...
i myself cannot code, but if i could i'd do something thats really good before releasing it...
respect to dedicated coders, both at sony and in the private sector...
it's smart to be dedicated.
thank you sony and to all haxors.
we live our lives so happily everyday.
no thanks to all discourage r's and misconceptors
and specially no thanks to all people with so much talk with wrong/false facts.
long live psp
