Webnab3-1_0206

Danzel has updated Webnab to version 0.3. Webnab (Why Eat Bananas? Not A Browser), has now developed into a full fledged RSS / Atom reader for your PSP. Details about this version:

Changelog:

  • Left/Right trigger goes to prev/next news item.
  • Added 'Download All' option.
  • Downloaded feeds are highlighted on the menu.
  • Failing to download a site doesn't crash webnab (not always :P)
  • Text colors can be changed (see colors.txt)
  • Menu Graphics changed.
  • Fixed/Added some international (polish/french) support, I think I'll move to freetype so this will be a non-issue.
  • Can reconnect to wifi using start button on main menu.

To Do:

  • Add picture and mp3 download/viewing.
  • Add comment viewing on pspupdates.
  • Add more compliance to rss/atom parsers so we can parse better (wordpress blog feeds aren't that great currently).
  • Have a shave (I still haven't :||| ).
  • Clean up source code hacks.
  • Release under GPL (its not GPL licensed atm so don't ask for the code, I'll release it when I'm ready to)

To Not Do:

  • Feed a Monkey potatoes.
  • Write a complete web browser.
  • Spill drink down my shirt.
  • Add anything I don't want to.

Thanks for the update and the email, Danzel!

****ING RIGHT ON, Illegal Machine! Thats what im saying about this app too. This thing is so dam sweet and fast. I love chillin in bed before I sleep reading up on the current news feeds! so relaxing. Danzel I have a small request to ask, maybe even consider it a favor, Im not sure on how to add other sites to view on this app, if possible could you either add some more sites or write a quick tut on how we can do it? I would love to be able to read xbox-scene and some other cool sites. Thanks so much bro, and please keep up the ausome work :)

It's pretty easy to add in some more sites, there is a sites.txt file in the webnab folder, you just need to find the link to the feed.
Usually there will be an orange link with 'rss' or 'atom' in it on the site, which will take you to the feed.
Then just add a new line to your feeds.txt with the address like follows:

rss xbox-scene http://feeds.feedburner.com/XboxScene
(replace rss with atom if it is an atom feed)
