Sony PSP logo - Image 1If you look at your Sony PSP as more of a portable internet browsing device than a handheld gaming console, then you may want to check out pspflashsystem's new homebrew application, Webapp v1.0. So what's this application all about?

Basically, Webapp lets PlayStation Portable users launch the handheld's browser at any time, whether it's in the XMB menu, or even if it's running a UMD or a homebrew game. However, do take note that once you jump to the browser while playing a UMD game, you'll be sent back to the XBL menu upon exiting the browser.

There's also another nifty feature to this homebrew program. Webapp also lets users set up a combination of button presses to start certain Eboot applications. It's a good thing that pspflashsystem went the extra mile to make two versions of Webapp: one with manual installation, and another that can be installed automatically. Great, eh? To get to started on the right track, refer to this installation guide as supplied by pspflashsystem.

Manual Installation:

  • Connect your PSP to your computer via USB,
  • Post your PSP into USB mode with the option USB connection,

Shouldn't it be XMB menu?

But nifty plugin, I've got to say!

"However, do take note that once you jump to the browser while playing a UMD game, you'll be sent back to the XBL [XMB?] menu upon exiting the browser."

This one kinda kills the main idea of having the browser anytime.

If you get rid of that problem, respect dude!

 » Jesus Christ, bloggers.

Do you people even READ your articles before you post them?
"XBL menu"
"Go to the menu Thursday> Memory Stick"
"When osk please change XXX with the name of your homebrew kit, but you can also modify pous"

It may take an extra five minutes to fix the translation by figuring out what it says, but at least you won't look like a douche anymore.
